A little surprising that the first 2 steps weren't, a quick brush down to get rid of any surface dirt, then a saddle soap washdown and towel drying in preparation for the conditioner application..........
@thomasmcnees14757 жыл бұрын
daniel lack hey bro wiping the shoe down with water and a cloth is all you need. saddle soap dries the leather! Most of the shoes we do are not that dirty but faded & worn. thks for the feedback!!
@thomasmcnees14757 жыл бұрын
Brushing a dirty shoe would make it worse...always water with a clean cloth... soap dries the leather.
@joegomez19836 жыл бұрын
Thomas you're good at what you do but next video slow down a bit instead of doing a shoe shine in 7 minutes do it in 10. Im sure that when you take your time shining a pair of shoes they look like freaking mirrors.

Hey Rob... if you are ever in Rhode Island airport stop by...I am in it for the business... not to take an hour and half to shine a shoe!!
@lanterninthedark89265 жыл бұрын
@@thomasmcnees1475 Thank you, but I am interested in "quality" and not "how fast you can get it done" because "you need to get it done". It is not my concern, nor should it be, that you "have other people waiting". So thank you again, but I'd rather not.
@lanterninthedark89265 жыл бұрын
@@thomasmcnees1475 Interesting that you "have so many happy customers" (thousands did you say?) Yet you only have 3 videos that I can apparently find and they were all from over a year ago? Not 1 video of a happy customer since? _let us all say together now class "SUSPICIOUS"_

Where's the follow up? For that many shines a day I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that this was maybe a rough shine but still.

Agreed. I cringed when I saw that big glob of moisturizing cream being smeared over that poor guys sock. Ugly stuff.

Why do it so fast and get shit all over the guy's sock?
@robert899217 жыл бұрын
Teachable moment. Whatever. Lame ass excuse. Why does it need to be teachable if you're already supposed to know what the hell youre doing? It doesn't matter if you have 1, 50, or 100 a day. Take-your-time-and-do-the-job-correctly. Besides you didn't clean the shoes correctly. You're supposed to use saddle soap and then uplift the dirt away not just spray something on a rag and rub away on the surface. Would u do that to the finish of your car? No you wouldn't. It would scratch the surface. Same thing here. Also u didn't use conditioner on the shoes. Polish and wax doesn't do any good and don't retain the shine or protection if you don't condition the leather. Get it right or don't do it at all.
@pvdshoeshine92497 жыл бұрын
Here is the deal. Saddle soap is never used , dries the leather. Polish/cream is a conditioning product which soften and restores color. I do use water to initially clean the shoes just as you do with cars. Interesting hearing from you guys with your feedback. Thks!!

Well to each his or her own. But I wouldn't want you doing my shoes/boots and I can see why your other comments aren't too favorable. Regardless of "what" you use the "how" ( as in quality of work) was poor at best. At least there's always room for improvement!

15000 views and 5 comments. 12000 shines a year for the last 14 years says it all!! Repeat business is what got me thru the recession!! You guys are tough critics but I am the guy who make lots of $$$$$!!! Must be doing something right!!
