Can you amp the damage by using spider summon ult instead of arctic leap? Chaos barrier stun > Crystal lance freeze > Spider summon > Slasher E right after 1st spider explosion > Spear Q + Spiderling explosion

Too bad a crystal lance does about as much damage as a single auto attack from crossbow/longbow/whip as a physical build even though it's a long cooldown and significantly harder to hit. Spellcasters need more buffs and physical needs more nerfs. Let's move away from this weapon damage and CC heavy meta imo. Edit: Oh and forgot to mention if you're bursting into a freeze then half the damage is absorbed by the freeze shield anyway lol. Those crystal lances into freeze aren't even doing that much damage considering the shield and what normal physical autos can do way faster :(

Yep theres a reason why physical damage reins supreme overall right now :') Although with good rng on the spell crits the damage on scholar combos is higher than anything with physical damage. If a hit is non crit or parry though then the damage is pretty pitiful

I saw someone using vampiric leech shadow bolt with crystal lance to work through the freeze shield

They would freeze shadow bolt then chaos ult stun into repeat E and spear Q

What do you think about artifact mace and frost dash? Seems solid for extra freeze potential and burst but I'm no great player

Artifact mace could be used since the E can also be used as a combo start for crystal lance but it is in tight competition with other weapons to the point where I'd rather not have it on hotbar. If you were playing on warrior or rogue blood it would be better since the extra physical damage will make the artifact mace Q starts hitting hard enough for it to be worth it Chaos or illusion dash are often stronger for scholar since they are better for avoiding damage but frost dash is also a viable option here

any tip for hitting chaos barrier recast ? having a hard time pulling that off

it is tricky to hit, especially vs rogue or when youre max range. Improving aim could be it own video in itself but bottom line is try to get used to peoples movement patterns when dodging and aim your skill shots based on that. Everyone tends to have habits on how they will dodge. Mixing up your timing on the cast can also help. Swap between fast recasts and waiting full duration to be unpredictable
