Understand there is an inalienable link between Cause and Effect. As POORNA Adam it is ONE. From composition ( impression) expression arises due the need ( karma). That the ATMA is a separate entity is ignorance ( avidya )So the Vedas impose a consideration that the ATMA is a conditioned reflection. In the Tamas Guna conditioning this reflection becomes a “ refraction”.. a pencil placed in a glass of water can look bent depending on the quality of glass. There is a misconception about Karma. Karma as we call it is actually 'Karmaphala' , or the result of good or bad karma. Every thought, word or deed results in good or bad karma or karmaphala or fruit of karma. We collect these in each life and when we die, the 'evolving' soul carries them into the spirit world ! These karma have to be 'exhausted ' only by taking re-births, the good karma manifested as good aspects of each life and the bad karma as 'bad' aspects of life . And in each new life we gather more good and bad karma! 'Moksham' is obtained only when there is no good or bad karma left !
