honestly disappointing to read the comments suggesting that an artist can’t move in a different direction musically. it’d be weird to think that every song that comes from pvris will sound like something from white noise... artists grow and change .. as they should ... i always see the same kind of ppl who always equate an artist/band evolving its sound to trying to appeal to the public and become “mainstream” when that isn’t the case. anyways. i lov this song and it has the essence of pvris within it regardless of the effects. i’m looking forward to the new album!!!!!

@natedavies9545 жыл бұрын
Anyone Else was a real smash though. Lynn still had a ton of grit and 80% was instrument based. They ditched the guitars and actual drums now and it’s disappointing. To be honest though, I’m not surprised. Seeing them live, Lynn was really skittish on a few songs, forgetting lyrics and missing cues. I think her anxieties drove the band down this path. It just makes me sad, because she’s not the whole band and this really strips the guys out. It’s not like they got popular by her doing her own thing, they’re a band and now she’s gone full Gwen Stefani..
@jesshardman92945 жыл бұрын
i think you guys are forgetting this is one song off a whole album, just because one song is a little more poppy than their songs usually are, doesnt mean that it will be the theme of the album. even though the song is different, you can still tell it’s pvris, it still has the same vibe and feeling as their other songs, and its still amazing

@@natedavies954 Alternative Press: "As I was reading the bio for Use Me, the line that really stood out to me was when you said, “I’m finally allowing myself to take credit.” I thought that was such a powerful statement. How difficult was it for you to get to that point where you were able to say that and back it up with action?" Gunn: "The whole majority of our career was battling with that. Brian and I are very much a unit when it comes to going on tour and playing onstage and every other aspect of what PVRIS are. But as far as creatively, it’s always been really singular; it’s just been me and whoever is producing our music. I had such a weird guilt, and a weird shame, around that for the longest time. In the last year or two, I finally noticed how much I’d shrink myself because of that. Comparing where I started-[when] I first started making music-to where I felt now, in a lot of ways, I felt a lot stronger and wiser. But at the same time, I also felt a lot smaller. I felt like I could never really actually talk about the creative process. When we first started out, I’d always sugarcoat things or fluff it and dumb it down. Creativity, and the process of making an album, making music [and] coming up with anything, is my favorite part of it. And it doesn’t feel good to not be able to talk about that and to be shrinking something that’s so important, exciting and valuable to me. That’s another component. I want to be able to speak about it openly. And I also just think right now culturally, a lot of women are stepping forward and owning up to what they deserve now, so it’s been like a big building snowball of events to get here."

@@natedavies954 I just saw them live three weeks ago, and her confidence and power was through the roof! I actually wasn't at all familiar with PVRIS before going to the show, and I was shocked afterward to hear people say that performing live wasn't her strong suit, because that wasn't what I saw at all. She sounded so strong. I usually don't watch my own videos from shows, just put them up for others to watch, but I've been watching them nonstop since the show because I can't get over how good she was. Theories 1. Going back to the beginning with serpent and the apple. Two people were thought to be put on this earth with a partner, until one of them wasn't loyal. One wants to leave and check out other things while the other is loyal and wants to be with them. 2. Possibly about twin flames? Showing the positive and negatove side of your mirrored self...??? "You could suffocate me or let me breathe", "this love looks like a loaded gun" (when you meet a twin flame, it could be good or bad. You have a runner and a chaser). 3. They stab the apple 3 times...Looks like a sacred heart with the three swords in it. 4. Or the tarot 3 of swords. Meaning: "The heart is the seat of warmth, affection and spirit, and the three swords indicate the power to harm, cause pain, and create suffering to what it pierces. This is an image of grief, loss and literally heartbreak." What are your thoughts or ideas????

Taylor Payton Reminds me of an embryo being in the womb of the mother. Can symbolize the fact that giving birth to something can be painful but at the end it worth it. Every pain offers a gift from heaven/lesson/chance to evolve as a soul+person but usually we can only see that after we went through the dark and reached the light already. Also could mean that a seed was planted and something is growing. 🤷♀️ What do you guys think?
@anikoszilagyi23705 жыл бұрын
Taylor Payton I guess there are infinite ways of interpreting anything so anything can be true from a certain perspective. If they are kissing, I think it could mean - an alchemical marriage - union of the Divine Feminie and Divine Masculine energies. Physical gender doesn’t matter because it’s an energetic transformation. - actual union with a special person. I feel like maybe later on we will get to know more about that part. I would love to talk about this with Lyndsey actually 😀 and ask these questions from her so I could know her truth and intentions...🖤

My 2nd favorite song has always been Nola 1 after hearing it for the first time and even after the 1000th time. Lynn Gunn explained the meaning behind “Nola 1” and why it is her favorite song "That’s one of my favorites on the record, which is a hard pick. That song was the first one I wrote when we weren’t finished playing shows, but it was our first extensive break we had from touring. I went to New Orleans with Blake and we posted up in an Airbnb for a week. It was the first time in two or three years that I had time just to breathe, exist and not have any type of pressure looming over me. It was a very lost period for me. That song has the perfect blend of upbeat summer vibes with a very underlying sadness and melancholy, which is what that trip was. It was so relaxing, a breath of fresh air, but it was also very sad with that reflection. It offers the most resolution out of all the songs and takes the story full circle with its ghosts and mirrors." I would of waited a decade for another single, because I know deep down from listening/reading other artists interviews the levels of stress that hide behind most of the smiles of band members during vigorous schedules , but I also know how music "can be" as enhancing as true love, and I know that as a fan of music, my patience will always be a virtue. We are all looking forward to the new album. Thank you PVRIS for your music!!!

It's clearly a PVRIS song, but I'm not as hooked as I was for their other singles and albums. It's got a lot less alt rock than I would've liked, but it's still an entertaining song. I'm interested to see how it'll fit in with the album as a whole. The video is wild, though, I do dig it.

My words. It's a good song, but I miss the style from the first album and this sounds too generic since it has so many mainstream music elements.

VR96FE I like this a lot. I don't like it as much of some of their other music but it is still great in its own way. I dislike mainstream musical elements, but that's because they're often used lazily. Not this song. Not PVRIS. This song is a complex tapestry of sound effects and it is beautifully rich. I danced to this song the other day while I was having an emotional breakdown. I've been replaying it ever since, constantly. Writing something I can dance to while sulking about my circumstances requires talent, and this production is well done. I commend PVRIS!

This sounds very synthwave/synthpop and I'm loving it. Hope the rest of the album will.have a heavy sound overall but we'll see. Not opposed to having a lighter sound by these guys.

I can’t lie and say that I like this song, but I’m glad Lynn looks to be having fun. I really want her to be free and create the music she wants. I’m hoping for some songs that have more of a rock influence... something unique... with those lyrics from the soul that I know Lynn can deliver
@cherie74495 жыл бұрын
RPV I agree! Nothing wrong with changing your sound, but obviously the original fanbase is gona get whiplash if the change isn’t gradual. You know, the “I was a fan before they were popular” people 😂. This is pretty generic pop stuff. Compare with songs like No Mercy and Let Them In. Again, nothing wrong with it... just... unexpected. Even St. Patrick is less “safe” than this. I kinda appreciate the chorus though, its got some stuff goin on. But the rest of the song... I dunno... I suppose it works if they are trying to get on the radio. Which would be a smart move 🤔🤷♀️

It's a new PVRIS! New music ,style everything! I like that but I'm really missing the old PVRIS. I'm confused a little. Everything just sooo new. Pvris looks like the new band.

It really sounds like Warner got involved and changed a bunch of things. Funny that, 4 years ago, they’re opening for Bring Me the Horizon, and now both bands sound like they should be opening for Alessia Cara..

LOVE it!! This piece has the rock influence from White Noise with a hint of distortion; and the electronic textures from All we Know of Heaven. Mary Me Lynn!!

Lyrically, this reminds me of Deftones in the way that Lynn says “You're a cold-blooded killer only after dark But I don't mind, 'Cause I'm a sucker, I'll do 'bout anything Just to get those hands on me, yeah”

Thank you for preserving our shared memories and recreating them in such a beautiful way to make it really exciting. I have been suffering from shell shock since as far as I can remember. The only things I have of any value are the things I was able to afford before covid. Even before then it was the worst part of my life and your music and visuals and self-sufficiency within your group have been one of the few things piecing me back together. I hope you read this. I got a jokey Paris tattoo with a friend of mine before I heard your band on the radio several years later. What a hopeless time, but thank you for sharing your beautiful stories and your visions. They bring me peace and I hope you find yours soon. And also some bliss omg the visuals are so fun. 💖💖✨🌞🚀

I liked the song but THE VIDEO is so clear. I loved how they represent the feeling of needing space, air, and how Lynn plays with the snake, which can be so dangerous. I could feel the lyrics thanks to the video. Amazing. These guys never let me down!
