TXSH I thought by now they'd have more vids. It's sad that she feels like this. 2 yrs of stress and touring isn't what they thought it would be. She went home and her mom said she's cynical and she said yeah I know I am! She's not happy at all how this crazy intense fame turned out. That's why she said "No I didn't want this throne" I feel so bad.

For me this song represents depression in a way. The people around the table blindfolded as they are blind to how "miserable" Lynn is her mind overrun with dark/miserable thoughts. The "metaphor" being the word depression, that its not needed to describe the obvious, or what she seems to be obvious yet those around the table are blind to it. The band being sad, emotionless in the chairs while being danced on by their demons (dressed in black) shows them feeling as if there locked in a depressed state, where later in the song they fight these demons, shown by lynn on the table dancing with the black and white strobe lighting, good fighting evil. The end of the song ends with all the guests looking towards Lynn possibly showing that she's been able to draw attention to the issue. Thats my interpretation anyway

Back In 2013, I saw pvris (without knowing who they were) because they toured with my friend Nick's band from wolves at the gate and I was sitting next to Lynn at the bar for a whole hour. I wanted to take a pic with her because I thought she was a good singer but I was too shy to interrupt her. Now she's super famous. I should have taken that pic haha

I have what I think is an interesting analysis of this song and/or video. I absolutely adore PVRIS and have been with them sin ce the beginning. This song get's me so hyped for the new album omfg! Anyway, I think this song is about the media and music producers trying to control PVRIS and turn them into any old band. Reason 1) The blindfolds: I personally feel the blindfolds signify ignorance and closed mindedness of music producers and the like. They mean that these people can't see who PVRIS really are and so can't appreciate their music or style and want to change them to become every other band out there. Also everyone around the table are wearing very expensive looking clothing and eating rich food, a demonstration of how the wealth of these people have blinded them to PVRIS' new style and how they don't conform. This links in to the eyelessness that I'll talk about later. Reason 2) Lynn's Behavior: Throughout the video Lynn almost unwillingly joins in with the actions of everyone outside of Alex and Brian of course. At the beginning of the video she raises her glass almost sarcastically with the people around the table and the way she dances throughout the video is in a style that makes her look almost possessed. This is another thing that hints towards society and the media trying to control PVRIS and Lynn knowing this but not liking it and trying to resist. Reason 3) The Lap-dancing: This video is essentially the first time we've seen obviously sexual tones in PVRIS' music videos and not just sexy tones like in"You and I". During the lap-dancing shots Brian, Alex and Lynn all seem completely disinterested. This is because they aren't like other bands, nonsexual and purely about the music and the meaning behind music videos, not just sexual dancing for the sake of it. The only reason those sequences are in there is because it's to show how producers want them to be in there so as to make the band more "sexy" and like most other bands, this is why our favorite people seem completely uninterested in it, because they aren't actually interested. Reason 4) The Lynn Worship: This is something I haven't seen anyone notice. When Lynn is receiving a lap-dance the dancers seem to be almost examining her, twisting her face and head and looking at her from all angles. Then if you notice the dancers are wearing outfits wearing very similar to what Lynn wore in "Heaven"; suit jacket with not much if anything on underneath and suit trousers and her signature shoes. On top of this when Lynn is singing on the table you see the two dancers behind almost praying to or worshiping her in an occult way. I mean we all worship Lynn but I feel all of this is there to represent Lynn losing her identity because people keep trying to be like her or because the media keeps trying to change her. Reason 5) The "No-one ever sold my soul." Part: This is my favorite part of the song due to it's style and meaning. I believe the fact she's singing at herself (if you notice) is because she knows that she is herself and is keeping herself strong by always telling herself that she still has her soul. The anger in the vocals signifies Lynn's anger at the fact she even has to say to herself that she still has a soul because the media are trying to take it away from her. This is also hinted at by the dancers whispering into her ear trying to probably manipulate her and change her. I think the flashing strobe lights are reminiscent of camera flashes and so she's screaming at the media/news/other parts of society that she isn't going to let them tear her apart. Reason 6) Slight Glances: At 1:49 1:56 1:59 and 3:52 Lynn glances slightly to the side of the camera as you see a lot of news reporters etc. doing when they're checking what they're doing is correct. This is another hint towards Lynn being unsure as to who she is, needing reassurance. Reason 7) Eyelessness: At the end of the video the people remove their blindfolds but still can't see. I think this shows that even though Lynn has removed peoples closed mindedness that people still don't understand what PVRIS is really about because all these producers care about is money not the music itself. When it turns out Lynn is also eyeless I think this is what Lynn thinks she'll become if she carries on on the path she's on, hence why she made the video, to change the path. Reason 8) Lyrics: Throughout the song Lynn sings things about being "Cynical" and being a "Center-Fold" and how she doesn't like it as well as other references to her relationship with media, reinforcing all of my points. That's my take on the song and video which I'm absolutely in love with. Keep going guys!

There's also that conspiracy that some artists sell their souls to Satan before they're famous to guarantee that they'll make it in the industry. Lynn could be referring to that and therefore saying that she's never going to be in it for the fame, but only to make music.

Tia Rowe I'm pretty sure there is... You can see that the people at the table wear blindfolds, yet they act like they can see perfectly well. Lynn is the only one not wearing one and through the song she talks about how she's not really okay. So, a theory could be that the people at the table wear blindfolds to show that they are blind to her pain even though they still "see"

"When did I get so pitiful? Just a goddamn corpse in the centrefold, you got my back against the wall, and now I can't ever get comfortable. No I never sold my soul, if I ever do, throw my bones to the wolves, no I never sold my soul." My favourite part of the song 👌🏼

THEM DANCING ON THE TABLE GIVES ME LIFE

Yo, but this song is such a BIG MOOD... Especially when feeling unaccomplished, alone even when the people closest to me are around, and trapped in a shithole job in a shithole town...and all I can do is keep writing story notes, listen to music and play video games to keep myself from completely burning out....

Yooo I hope your life gets better as soon as possible. I also relate to this song, but not in that way. Wish you good luck tho, have a nice one

Love this album a lot of people think this album is to do with a break up she said in that this album was written based on people tryna tell her what she can and can't do with her sound/ music it's not about a breakup but a relationship with her music! Heaven is about her music " you took my heaven(music) away " What's wrong - is about depression not being able to do what she wants with her music " no I'll never sell my soul" Half - being torn with music and going home Winter - mental health "frozen in your winter always "
