You know (in case some one is watching this in 2024) the best "build" until way of the Nioh (aka NG++++) is equal distribution of stats. Level all your stats at the same time. every stat increase gives you benefits and passive resistances. Use Ninjuju, Omnio asap and use your ranged weapons to clear your missions faster. Final tip: learn how to apply Confusion, you can thank me later.

Telling people that are just starting Nioh, to avoid putting points into health and damage at the beginning is not the greatest advice lol. The first main boss in the level 5 mission can 1 shot a level 20 lol, you need to do as much damage as fast as possible. And incase you do get hit, you will need some extra health, or else its game over. For the first 25 levels, invest everything into damage and health. I kept getting one shotted by the 1st boss and usually when he was very close to dead. I invested 10 levels into health and str..... I beat him 1st try.

Optional mission in Kyushu in the bottom left, where you have to help the girl find a charm is probably the best starting location for grinding I've come across. You have an NPC to help, so it's easy to clear the mission regardless of your level. Even the revenants are easy when you have a partner to distract them. At level 120 I was getting 200K per run.

Loved ur commentary and ur funny. I started playing Nioh 2 Thursday and damn the shit is hard. I didn't read the reviews, just looked at the ratings and downloaded it. Great information. Something that is helpful to me on the three souls sake farming is to use a suppa scroll. You can just bypass the tengu and if you're at a lower level that can make the run easier. I usually make a stop at the well also. You can pick up whetstones there sometimes (usually 1-2 per 10 sake run). The corpse always provides a large spirit stone (2000 amrita).

One thing about 3 souls. You do not need to kill the raven.. If you open the doors then kill the 3 little one eye oni's then you can just go loot that whole area for the sake, the whet stone or water and the large stone from that area. So yeah if your low level and have issues killing the ravens tyengu's just open that door kill the 3 little bosses and then loot and then exit for your 3 large souls tones.

I understand that. but I'm thinking like say level 150 to 200 may have an issue killing him. So the fact you can open that door kill the oni's then loot the sake is pretty good for those who cant kill the tengu.

For sure, but...it's a tengu...lv150-200 should have no problem taking it on, some would think that that's the lvl builds should be "complete". If they beat all the other stuff to get to that point (2nd route) than killing a tengu shouldn't be some ordeal, especially for the builds that would farm this route (lw kusa builds) to begin with.

I'd (personally) argue that the best starting guardian spirit is actually the other two, but mainly Isonade. I started with it, and I found it's passives pretty good.

Really helpful :) Would love to have that #1 branched out more. For many (myself included), the first "Way of the Samurai" playthrough was really tough even I did almost everything the same way as you suggested. Maybe I'm just bad with this game and only become somewhat successful after I can implement some OP mechanics to my build (like Susanoo was a while back).

(Sword and spear build only) I always pick the fire starter in every game ever. Bumped Dex with the rest of my stats except magic till around the 3rd plot mission. Got heavy dlc armor and dumped into fortitude regularly to wear it until I got armor sets but I still lvl it up. Early game, just go into any big enemy with a living weapon and smash it in low stance, occasionally dodging behind them, works until plot mission 3.

Yea the 200 hp from the bull will majorly help in the beginning, mobs hit hard but its when u get knocked down or stunned that your going to need that extra health, and that BS happens non stop. Yes Ninja abilities are strong, but having lots of str means you deal more damage and kill faster. Unless you have a 30 level advantage, most mini bosses and bosses can 1 shot you, so i advise to invest into health also. You dont need 10 dex to complete the dojo mission till like act 3 or 4, so until then you should invest into health and damage as a priority, if not learn the hard way. And each level up is different, how many points you get into weapon and skills from a statistic, varies and changes. Pick 2 or 3 main stats and when leveling up, put your point(s) into the skill that offers the most pluses (+). And when you get a level were you dont get much pluses into any skills you like, thats when you choose a stat like dex or magic or spirit to put points into. And dont worry about not having enough dex or magic to do the dojo missions, there will be lots of levels to invest into those stats. For a new player....Stick with the bull living weapon, and put everything into damage (Str) and health. This game is super hard at the start, you will not survive the 1st boss on the boat, without lots of str and hp. This game has NG+4 and a level cap of 750 lol theres tons of time to invest points into stats like magic, spirit and dex.

you may wanna note that the attack-inherit for armor can be used for other skills as well, like 'received elemental damage' or 'elemental damage reduction (guarding)' for immunity to elemental damage (with the tatenashi set bonus for the former, but doesn't require blocking), or 'evasion ki usage' for free dashes (which is great for heavy armor users and battle focus axe users especially), and so on. also good for getting 'unlimited omnyo/ninjutsu' onto pieces it shouldn't, or the may-not-actually-be-possible 'life recovery on amrita absorption'.

I'm brand new to Nioh and it definitely is hard. I've already hammered through the Dark Souls Trilogy and BloodBorne. The Dragon Midir in Dark Souls 3 was the only thing I was not able to beat in these games. I would say out of these 4 games, DS3 was definitely the most difficult.

@@ShredHeadJHJ the key to midir is to hit his head. Do not waste time on hitting his other body parts as they take less damage. Stay in front of him. Dodge his attacks and stay unlocked as the staying locked on makes the fight harder. I absolutely love fighting that boss. One of my all time favorite boss fights.

crit lw still the best way, you just run out after a minute or so. Demon king is fails halfway (broken bridge part), meanwhile with ghost of sawayama, I manage to keep it up through entire level. if it fails, simply start it back up with a soulstone :)

These videos are great man! I just beat Ng and made a similar low level build that got me through it! Super helpful tip on applying Attack to armor! I had no idea it worked that way! Also I have Sanada set but how do you craft it into divine status or does it only come as a revenant drop? If I have Sanada is Kingo still better? sanada is good but only in mixed sets or for susanoo (crit lw build). Kingo would be better in general. You can forge divine sanada soon as you unlock way of the strong. For ng, I just forged a new set every region to stay defensive. Sanada can't be dropped from revenants.

For the first playthrough just use the 'head stuck in the stairs' glitch in the sub mission Trial of the Masters. It will take a while to get this sub mission unlocked, you'll have to go through a few tough boss fights and about 60% of the game first. But once you get to it and use the glitch only have to get like 200 mil amrita from it to level up most stats to around 40. Along with the new gear and weapons picked up from just playing that's enough leveling to make the final 6 bosses of the game fairly easy.

Just got this game for ten bucks in the Game Stop bargain shelf and I'm fifteen hours in and haven't even beaten the second boss yet. Lol. It's a great game. Very demanding. You have to concentrate on like five different factor and manage them appropriately in order not to die. I've died forty or fifty times already but the good thing is when you die you only lose your amrita which you can get back from your grave unless you die again before you get it back and then you lose it. I love this game. I've never played Hitman but I imagine it's stealthily similar, having to go through your options over and over until you finally get it right.

I just started the NG+ and i completed every NG mission except Return of the Gourd! The revenant parts are easy but as soon as Nobunaga and his pet dog appear they destroy me! I'm level 120 and i have a pretty decent divine Kusarigama and i only use Kara Jishi for skill bonus and blade spin

hmm have you tried cheesing them via my cheesing video? Use daiba washi spirit, with guardian spirit talismans, then spam it and constantly deal final blows to them. Focus on one in case you can't kill both, then just battle the other normally if they're still alive. Hope that helps!

I kept getting one shotted by the 1st boss on the boat. Then i spent 10 levels investing into health and damage..... I beat him 1st try. Putting points into dex, magic or spirit in the beginning of the game is Not the right thing to do, and will make the 1st mission feal like your at the end of the game with a seriously under geared under leveled character. After i put everything into health and str, i started to not struggle so much. Fyi, if u return to main menu, u will loose everything you aquired in that level, so try and use a shrine close to that boss that drops the smithing texts.

Challenging is one thing, but the regeneration of the bad guys when you go to a different area then go back is horrible. It’s like a game from the late 90’s. All that you collect saves automatically but not any progress.

Amaterasu is the best. Tri-sword build is 3rd, with mastodon (axe) second. My best builds anyhow (last 3 I made), that's how I'd rank them. Solo sword I'd say is the weakest build atm, but it's not far behind from the rest. iai's just too slow compared to everything else.

nah you're good, no need to start a new game. Books are fine. I'm assuming you're in ng and not ng+? If so it doesn't really matter as those builds are more late game anyway (lv160+). Tri-sword still takes heart and uses sword so you can transition to that. You can still beat all of the game with just sword, it's not like it isn't viable. Sword is still great against humans.

I found that the last tip does not work unless you offer at least 1 ochoko cup, in my tests where I did offer 1 I always had a divine accessory spawn, when I did not it was only exotic.

Also noticed after playing this it feels like the first dark souls is a walk in the park. So many paths to upgrade the only thing I did right before watching this video was upgrade my spirit which I forget how to see what each level does and upgrade my dexterity. Dexterity was only being done because of that spinning weapon I like using for long distant hits. Now I just have to upgrade magic to level 10 I guess. I've played like 30 hours and am only on the second mission. I invited people into my game and noticed how out of depth I was as there was so many items to look at and compare. I'm sitting there for a few minutes there comparing all the items I should upgrade while my random partner gestures me to move, wish I could write to them and say I'm sorry for being so slow.

they can. you can NOW have skill damage/ccd/attack from behind+final blow+familiarity/ninjutsu/agility/equipment weight damage bonus+change to attack, all on the same weapon. The "/" represents you can only have one of those however. So you can only have one damage stat of that category. Close combat dmg and skill dmg are in the same category, so you can only have one of those. Final blow is in an independent category, so you can have it always (unless you have grapple).
