This was a great explanation to help me understand PPROM vs. PROM for nursing school! Thank you! In my book though it mentions tocolytic medicine to help prolong PPROM not antibiotics. It mentions antibiotics just to treat PPROM for infections.

Great information however I feel like you should mention the woman's choices and consent for these procedures, especially when you are talking about PPROM after 35 weeks. She should get to choose whether she would like to wait and see if labor begins or if she would like to be induced. Several times you mentioned "I would ..." but didn't teach that it is still the woman's decision to make.

Good point. But, as the description says, my videos are about what to do on board exams, which is why I phrase it that way.

Isn't it also possible to have labor without rupture of membranes? I mean I have heard of a few vaginal births with the amniotic sack intact.

Hallo, is it possible that contraction of Covid-19 on 16th week of gestation can cause PPROM and chorioamnionitis on 23rd week?
