Finally a highlight reel for the PWHL! I hope to see some fan made highlight reels like they do for the NHL.

That hit by Flaherty deserved a suspension, That was deliberate no question. I hope it is reviewed and Flaherty is suspended. If you let one player off with that crap then you open the floodgates.
@katherineberger632911 күн бұрын
It was reviewed before the penalty was assessed. 2 minutes for illegal contact, but the only contact to Muller's head was from her own stick deflecting off of Flaherty's pads, which was clearly shown from multiple angles on the slow-motion replay (which was left out of this highlights video for obvious reasons). Shitty impacts happen in contact sports, especially high-speed ones, but the refs made the right call even if it was an unpopular one.

@katherineberger6329 Aye, and the moon really is made of green cheese. I think that officials need a visit to Specsavers. If Flaherty had put her elbow out any further it would have been in the front row.

@@sturmgesutz The refs shouldn't make calls based on how salty the home team fans are. They have to make calls that are supportable by the evidence that they can see and review. I hope Muller is ok, but you cannot CANNOT CANNOT make calls on basis of what the home fans want. That's a fast way to strangle the league.

The PWHL Player Safety Committee announced that after further review Minnesota Frost’s Maggie Flaherty will be suspended two games for her hit on Alina Muller in Wednesday’s game.

Gotta be fuqing kidding me that that wasn't called as a game misconduct! much less a 5 minute major, much much less a 2 minute penalty. Ridiculous! The refs blew this call

it's a head shot no matter how you sugar coat it. it's the same thing in the NHL. she got what she deserved and the play should be reviewed for a possible suspension, they have to protect the players.
@jasminegates268312 күн бұрын
You're 100% right. I edited my original comment cause I realized it didn't come off how it sounded in my head. Flaherty should be suspended no question. She didn't even attempt to play the puck at all
@concretecanuckwall12 күн бұрын
@@jasminegates2683 no worries. by the same token it's nice to see hitting in the women's game. we need more of it just not headshots. some good ol fashioned shoulder/hip checks but the best thing to happen to the PWHL is Sarah Fillier, just wow!

Too me that was worse that what Ryan Reaves did to Darnell Nurse in the NHL and he got 5 games
@katherineberger632911 күн бұрын
@@concretecanuckwallSlow mo from multiple angles showed that the only thing that hit Muller's head was her own stick (it looked like it popped her in the throat, which is why she had to spend a few seconds on the ice remembering how to breathe - I've taken a hit like that before and it HURTS) on an accidental deflection from Flaherty's pads. Flaherty served 2 minutes on a cross-check penalty, which was all the video supported. You can't say that you want women to be playing a more physical and aggressive style of hockey and then over-penalize them for taking risks that don't pan out. Muller and Flaherty are being PAID to play this style of hockey.

This seems imo better than NHL. This is hella fun watching. But don’t get me wrong NHL is definitely fun to watch but I like this a bit more.

The Boston Fleet need to move to Boston. Less than 4,000 in attendance (6,500 capacity) for the team's home opener is disappointing.
@puffinlord1511 күн бұрын
@@Z-bone64 as a season ticket holder i love them being in Lowell! Much, much easier time getting in and out of Lowell than Boston, and the crowd is way friendlier than a deep Boston crowd
@Z-bone6411 күн бұрын
@@puffinlord15 I understand. I live south of Lowell, and it's a much easier drive than going to Boston. But playing to 60 percent capacity is not healthy for the team's longevity in the area.
