Which one would I run with an aftermarket 250A alternator that charges at 14.8 but might go a bit above 15 when it’s cold?

Just ordered an XS Power PWR S5. Question, stock alternator is 210 amps and resting voltage at my amplifier is 14.9v, which XS states in the manual to not go over 14.4v. I emailed XS tech support, but want guidance if this resting voltage is bad for LTO batteries? Diode isolators cut voltage 0.7v or so, but do not want to go that route due to amperage limitations on those, and DC to DC chargers at high amperage are very costly. Any help/tips would greatly be helpful. Thanks!

I have a pwr 5 the white blk version, ever since i went on a vacation and came home to a dead battery it won't go back to 14.5-14.7 volts it stays in the 13.8 or 13.9 range if lucky itll be 14.1 rarely. But can sit at rest im the 14s. Whats wrong with it

Can you run these with yinlong 80 ah bank and 500 farad super caps? Also can you just hook it up or do you have to charge it first?

I have a salt 4 on 2 x v215's , 1 xs 3400r under the hood, and 2 in the rear. Also have a 220 amp alternator under the hood. Which Titan8 do I need to replace the 3400r's in the rear?

@Bobarik001- 1- Titan 8 S5 PWR= 12volt model, can be ran inline without isolators, and ran inside of your vehicle, to replace those 2 in the rear.

@10krms54- 2 Titan 8 S5 PWR in the back would work, used inline with your d3400 upfront. As long as you have the big 3 done?

I have a js 320 amp alternator so what will be better on a 8 to 10k amp

@Marcus_1215- The 12volt Titan 8= S5 should not be charged higher than 14.5volts, and for long life rec. Charge voltage is 13.6 to 14.0volts. If you charge @ 15.5 to 16.5volts get the Titan 8 S6 PWR, but these canot be run inline with 12volt batteries. Also if you plan on running these under the hood= in the engine compartment, you have to buy these in the protective Bci group case's that are available in alot of different case's. All that being said, 2 batteries of the correct voltage, would be recommended, with your alternator, as each battery has a 300amp max charge rating.

That's correct with the titan 8 you can run parallel with agm. I had that same question and talked with xs and they said the titan 8 was made to run with agm and no need for isolator. I have a xs 4900 d series under my hood and running xs titan 8 s5 12v parallel under my back seat. And you can use the xs agm charger to charge the titan 8 jus once it hits float mode remove it from charger. Or you can buy lithium charger

Hi I have a pwr-s5-4800 under the hood of a 2016 silverado and a pwr-s5 in the cab of the truck also, but my truck hasn't started twice since installing last week. And my settings on my radio (radio stations, eq, etc) keep resetting almost every morning when I start the car. Is this happening because the reserve capacity is to low on these batteries? Should I add an AGM battery under the hood as well to go along with the two pwr lithium batteries?

To me if the radio keeps resetting it almost sounds like one of your posts under the hood may be loose and causing the connection to stop temporarily. Similar to how when you unhook your battery completely it resets the radio. I would check connections and make sure that one of them isn’t coming loose from the terminal or that the m6 bolts that hold the post tight is also locked down tight. Hope that helps you out. Because they absolutely have enough CCA to start a vehicle especially if they are charged all the way up from alternator before turning the truck off. If your putting them under load and running them down and turning the truck off might not have enough in them to start it.

I been looking at those titan 8 s5 12v bci 4800 underhood safe models for my truck/system. I have a 370 mechman and was hopping jus with 1 of those titan 8 underhood lithiums It would keep my voltage steady and power my 3k amp along with everything in my truck. Other option was xs power d series 4900 agm and add another smaller agm or lithium with it if my voltage is dropping. But figured If the titan 8 4800 s5 bci underhood lithium would be good enough I'd rather go with it instead of putting battery inside cab of my truck

We definitely recommend spreading the alternator load across multiple batteries. Our PWR-S5 series (modular and BCI Group models (4700, 4800, etc)) can only handle up to 300 amps of current, so you could in theory do the PWR-S5-4800 under the hood, and either our modular PWR-S5 or RSV-S5 on the inside of your car. If you have a dual battery setup under the hood of your vehicle, you could run two PWR-S5-4800's, or a PWR-S5-4800 and D4800 under the hood to save room inside- really the possibilities are endless!

@4xspower oh ok well guess ill jus have to go with a xs d 4900 agm and jus add a smaller agm inside my truck if my voltage is dropping to low, since the titan bci 4800 underhood battery can only accept 300 amps. If I go with a DD M 2500 I should be close to pulling 300 amps maybe. I was jus trying to get away with running 1 battery big enough to handle everything including a 2.5k amp. Heard those d4s LTO 6.0 can be added parallel with a agm so could do that I guess. May jus ask the shop I go too what they recommend. Thanks alot

No problem@@johnnypiper1717. Also, keep in mind discharge current will always be higher than your charge current. The PWR-S5 series batteries can discharge up to 1,500 amps of current, and your alternator won't constantly put over 300 amps of current back into your system. Sparked Innovations made a great tool called the Conductor that also proved the theory, and is something you could also install in your system to monitor amperage.

Yeah I was thinking if I jus went with the 2.5k amp that I would be drawing close to 300 amps tops which that's why I was considering getting the xs titan 8 s5 4800 underhood oem replacement since it look like it would most likely keep my voltage steady for sure. And I jus was hoping to get away with having jus 1 battery for my system. Only thing is people been saying those titans only have 10Ah which I don't plan on playing my system while my truck is off and it will always be running while listening to my system. I was hoping maybe the d series 4900 agm would be big enough to power my system with my 370 alt, and if my voltage would drop and I would need to add another battery I figured well it would be cheaper jus to get the titan 8 s5 4800 underhood if it would take care of my voltage.

My question is when I upgrade my amp, could I get one of the titan 8 pwr s5 series and run it parallel with my agm underhood battery? If so do I need an isolator or would I be good without one. I have a mechman 370A alt so figured my agm and titan 8 parallel will keep my voltage pretty steady with a 4k amp.

Hey I have a serious question that I can't get a straight answer to my current setup is dual 12 Q-class L7 on CXA 1800.1 in a 19 Camry LE I want to start by telling you that my car is not compatible with a HO alternator because of the ONBUS/LINBUS electronics build so because of that I'm seriously limited on what I can do I have been talking to several different dealers of the Titan 8 and the LTO bank both and they are all telling me that the products themselves can support the setup I want ( dual 12 solo x with 4x 7" street series for the doors and 2x CXA 1800.1 for the subs and 500.4 for the doors) but they are all telling me different things the titan 8 is very very nice and if I could afford it I would most certainly get it but they are telling me I need 2-4 of the Titan 8 and delete my stock battery but isn't that the same as a 40 AH LTO bank they are trying to tell me it's different and won't work PLEASE HELP

This is from the XS Titan S6 specs page, says can accept 300A of continuous charge current. So a alt making 370 amps might be too high according to their specifications.

@@datninja408 my thing is, i already have an agm charger, so i can just use that if i needed to charge it, instead of spending $300 on a lithium charger.. i have seen some chargers on amazon for $60 that can charge agm and lithium, tho.

They can handle a max charge current of 300 amps, so you can, but in line with another battery to split the charge current with.

@@4xspower thank you for your reply, so I will run one AGM battery under the hood, hook it up to my T8, then to my SB500. is it normal for the light bulb to smoke while charging the SB500. For that reason I stopped charging. Thank you for your help.

Definitely not ideal, but it is a resistor, and resistors do get warm. As long as the voltage of the SuperBANK is within normal range, you should be fine. @@dmetrious7882

@@johnnypiper1717 bro so far I haven't dropped lower then 13.4 and I can play it as long as I want without problem at high volume. I run a ever ready under the hood from Walmart, to my Titan, to my xs SB500. To my amps I run 5 stetsom amps. 2 3000w, 2 1600, 1 1200.
