Adding one XS SB1500-75 to my one D3400 a couple years ago made a BIG difference in my voltage for my 8K. Now I use a couple XS Lithium batts with same 1,500f super bank cap mentioned for my 16,000W as seen on my KZbin channel #LowHertzHighSPL (I earned 2nd place in my Slamology MECA Street class. My 2 - 15s can hit over 155dB)

Question friend. I want to run a dual setup under hood in my Tahoe because I take my box out when needed. How would I do a super cap and titan 8 under hood. .

I feel they gave some good information here, but also left out some critical information; If your amplifier draws more amps than your alternator can produce- no amount of additional batteries or capacitors will stop the voltage from draining, it will only slow the inevitable drain. Do some calculations and learn how large/how many an alternator you need. A capacitor is great for big loads so you don’t short out the battery because is buffers the high voltage demands of a large system. Capacitors do not replace a batteries amp hours or substitute an alternators power generation. All three work in tandem to have a safe and effective circuit.

These actually do serve a useful purpose. As long as your alternator supplies enough power most of the time one of these will put in a buffer to prevent voltage drop when you have a big spike in power demand, such as hitting those hard lows at max volume. You need to install the supercapactor (or regular capacitor) as close to the amps as possible for this to work well. That will prevent you from having a voltage drop and your alternator will be able to keep up with the demand. However, if you just start throwing batteries, capacitors and supercapacitors in without first doing to the required upgrades otherwise you’re just going to be adding a ton of strain to your system. This is why I always tell people to get a high output alternator, do a big 3 using 1/0 or 2/0 OFC, replace the stock battery with a quality AGM such as an XS Power D3400 and to run 1/0 or 2/0 OFC to a distribution block near where their amps are going to be installed before they even think about adding batteries and capacitors. For most installs once the electrical is upgraded they’ll never need to add any batteries to the system. Once you start getting around 4000+ watts of power is when that stuff comes into play. I’m hitting that point now and I’m planning on adding a supercapacitor as a stop gap until I can afford to move up to dual alternators. I already have a Mechman 370a Elite under the hood and new sub amp pulls around 300 amps at full tilt. Hits hard but my headlights are slightly dimming now. Not enough to where I cannot see but enough that I need to address this. Voltage is also sagging at lights and stop signs. Gotta protect my amp, would hate for it to blow due to voltage drop or start clipping and kill my new subs. I just wish I could afford a XS Power Superbank right now. Instead I’m going to have to settle for a much cheaper one from another brand for around $350, but it’ll get the job done.

Watched the entire video for research on an inverter setup that I'm going to build. It wasn't until the last moment where he showed the 'Made in the USA' label where I was fully sold. I see a lot of this stuff on Ebay and Amazon from China and I don't want to take my chances with cold/broken solder joints or non-functioning balancing circuits. No thanks, when dealing with this amount of energy I'd rather have something build with pride right here in the US.

I spotted that in the first 30 seconds or so of the video. It’s right there on the top right of the supercapacitor. XS Power makes good products. I’ve been using a D3400 since 2015. I’m on my second one now but that was my fault. I didn’t drive the vehicle for some time and had it on a battery tender. Well I needed that battery tender for another vehicle and forgot to hook it back up when I was done with it and then got sick with cancer. A year later and the battery had drained to nothing and then it got swollen (normal for discharged AGM batteries). If it wasn’t for that I’d more than likely still be using the first one that I bought. In any case that battery lasted for nearly 7 years of hard use without ever once giving me any problems. That’s more than I can say for AGM batteries that I’ve bought from O’Reilly’s for other vehicles that didn’t have car audio in them. I’ve had to warranty two of those, luckily they had a 100% replacement warranty on them.

I currently own two of your XS30K (non spl model lithium) and 4 of your sb-1000-31 superbanks. Any chance you guys can do a demo of the XS30k? I'm trying to run the xs30k's and sb-1000's together buy my voltage rests at 15.0

Wait so i have an older SB1000-31 that i don't believe has a spot for the voltmeter attachment but can i still get one and just mount it to side of the wooden box I've built to house my supercap?

Honestly great video but now im even more confused on what I need to purchase for my current build that I’m working on . 😂 I’ve reached out to battery places about XS Power and what size I need and I’ve gotten different answers. It can’t be that hard to tell me what I need for a Taramps Bass 3k and a Taramps DS 800x4. I should have went Orion XTR Amps like in my other car so all I had to do was put a AGM under the hood 😂

If it's overwhelming, just keep it simple. Upgrade the battery under the hood and add a secondary battery for support and you should be golden!

Hello I was really hoping to get some advice. I have a 09 acura csx. Civic si basically. I have the big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge done and a high output 250 amp alt. I plan to have 3-5k rms. I am concerned about the group 51r battery being a bottle neck I may be able to fit a group 35. I would like to utilize the under hood battery space. What would you recommend for under the hood and for in the trunk to run 5krms. I am open to using agm, lithium and supercaps in any combo you recommend. Perhaps there is a under the hood safe lithuim battery that may be a good option. Not sure if it makes a difference I am in a very cold climate. It starts perfectly fine but would be cool if my car started super fast as well lol. This is a super loaded comment If you respond it would be incredible!

XS Power please help me out here. I am building a 4x15 Zv5 Build in my Tahoe. I will be using a dual mechman 400amp. For front battery I will use the XS D3400. The question is supplemental batteries. I was planning to add 3 XP3000. But after discovering this, I now think adding a super bank would be better. I mean whats the catch ? What would be the difference in adding extra batteries vs superbank? Is it ok to use both ? Sorry new to the scene. Thank you

With a SuperBank being a capacitor, they deliver instant power over a short amount of time. We see them used in car audio competition for burping, and in commercial applications for starting (heavy diesels that require a lot of instant amperage). A capacitor is going to have a lot of instant power, but supplemental batteries have more reserve capacity for longer draw applications. SuperBanks perform best in parallel with other batteries, so based on the information you've given, you could do 2 of our XP3000's, and one of our SuperBanks. Our SB1000-31 is the same size as the XP3000, but there are plenty of other options for sizing of the SuperBanks.

Quick questions: If I'm running 3 AGM batteries and I add the SB500 to my system (1 Synergy Audio WFO 5.1D with a Singer 320 alternator) would this be sufficient? I already have a new SB500 that I want to install. What if my system is drawing more than the cap can handle, would that be an issue or would it be safe to run the SB500?

There wouldn't be an issue installing your SB500 in line with your other AGM batteries. You'll see an improvement in your voltage!

No. Stock alt & battery are usually good up to 1500w

Please help I’m looking to buy the sb1000-31 my voltage is in 1.36 never can get it higher I have a salt 8k have a 250alt and 2 agm battery’s it hold but when it hit the Lows brings it DOWN to 1.18 even lower

@gerardogonzalez1455- You have your decimal points wrong, i think you meant to put highest voltage is 13.6volts, and drops to 11.8volts and lower when the lows are slamming, is that correct? If so, do you have the Big 3 done? If not thats the 1st thing you should do. Then i would either get 1- Titan 8 S5 PWR added inline with your other batteries inside, in the back, and or get the Sb 500, or Sb 1000, can never have to much electrical.

The salt 8k is big, and you really should run a larger or dual alternator. Look up “calculator for how many amps do I need for my subs” or something. For 8k watts you’ll need like 534 amps. If you’re alternators aren’t able to produce that and then some (for the normal vehicle running electronics) then your batteries will always drain faster than your alternator can supply power. No additional power bank will help, only delay how long it will take to drain. So, either get a huge power bank and always charge it overnight or get an adequate alternator setup.

Not to be a hater, but XS power fell out of favor with me some time ago. I purchased an XS Power battery that went bad after just shy of 3 years. Getting a warranty was a nightmare. The lack of retail outlets to support their product was a huge hindrence in their customer support. the people i was able to talk to said i had to prove the battery wasn't under or over charged, etc... eventually i gave up on XS power and bought an optima. Since then, i have talked with other people about their experiences with XS Power and learned that the general opinion is that XS creates a top teir product, but their support after the sale (imho) leaves them as a second teir choice.

I purchased a D3400 XS failed out the box zero support from returns lucky the distributor helped me out 100% battery is on a 24/7 battery tender .... seasonal JDM car
