I’m a left-handed, handgun shooter and a right handed rifle shooter I grew up iin an era where I probably would’ve been left-handed if my grandma didn’t smack my hands every time I use my fork with my left hand but when I got older and started shooting I realized that I shoot left-handed with the handgun and right handed with a rifle which is to me very advantageous in my recreational idpa endeavors because of the obvious ease of transitioning my weapons where with practice my rifle went down and by the time my rifle was down and secure I was already engaging with my handgun. Talk about shaving seconds but I am just having fun and don’t make astonishing times I compete with myself but it is a definite advantage

PWS makes the best AR Platforms on the market w/ the Long Stroke, Rachetting Nut,Built in Picmod in the front. Now they offer B.D.E. Titanium 3-D Printed Suppressors & an Entirely new Design in the UXR Line... They are at the Top. Would put any PWS against LMT LWRC Sig etc...

Of course a 14.5 long-stroke piston 5.56 with a 2-chamber muzzle brake would be pretty flat. Nothing against PWS tho, it seems they make awesome rifles. Those ribs are the result of lighting cuts in an effort to offset some weight from the barrel and piston system, nothing to do with adding rigidity. I almost bought one but sprinted for a 12" LMT piston as my end-game AR. It is a more solid rifle with the most robust handguard and top notch barrel. The barrel change system only need 1.5 screws and you can even change between DI and piston in just 2 mins. It has more standard parts compatibility. Shoots super soft with just a short 3 prong key micro.

I have the MK114 Mod2. 10 out of 10 and I absolutely love it. I love it so much that I'm probably going to get the PWS in either .308 or 6.5. One of best if not the best gun purchase I've ever made. I've always enjoyed shooting AKs due to the fact I was in jr. high when Red Dawn came out and just always thought AKs were cool. The whole AK world is also a really fun rabbit hole to go down and explore the different variants from the different countries. I am categorically not an AK v AR guy, as I'm mostly a recreational shooter if a gun is fun, ammo is reasonable and kind of cool I like any gun. One thing I've always like about the AK, though, is the piston system and even my 1970 Romanian MD-65 under folder 7.62x39 shoots really clean. I encourage every AR lover to get at least one AK just as I encourage every AK lover to get an AR. They provide totally different shooting experiences, both are a ton of fun and the 7.62x39 is an extremely useful round especially if you're into larger pest removal like rock chucks, coyotes or wild hogs. First time I shot a DI AR long while back I thought something was wrong with the gun as there was so much gas coming out of the breach that I wasn't used to from the AK system. I was told that was just normal. Because I like so much about the AR and wanted one I would enjoy as much from an experiential level as I do the ergonomics and customizability. Coincidentally, my answer was just down the street and I found PWS, a local company, one day when I was just driving around. I studied the company, talked to their guys, they showed me around and fell in love with their approach. The piston system of the PWS gives the best of both the AR and the AK. Why should I just have to get used to breathing exhaust fumes like I'm standing behind an old VW bus when I can just get a PWS? Sure PWS is a little pricey but to me the shooting experience of the PWS makes it way worth it. I'm going to switch out my trigger for a TriggerTech Diamond like my wife has on her NEMO AR and I think I've found my favorite rifle of all time.

They really are exceptional rifles Should give the MK2 series a test drive and see how well all this translates to 308/6.5. Their muzzle device really is remarkably effective, but even after swapping for a dead air it has remained the most pleasant big bore AR I’ve tried. Makes the scar feel like it has absurd recoil. The PRO lineup is where most people should look imo. Value that almost doesn’t make sense. Looking forward to getting my hands on a UXR to see what they’ve done with that.

I'd be curious to know if, when they killed the upper with those lines for rigidity, they took material away to cut down a little more on weight and that's why they added those. Or if it's still basically the same weight (or more) I have some Aero/Ballistic Advantage rifles and a few others. A couple are heavier than I'd like so I'm slowly working through components to see where the extra weight is at. If that upper is lighter I might check it out. It's gotta be less expensive than V Seven components. Though you can't beat magnesium alloy uppers in weight but I digress.

Agreed on the muzzle device, you can see the concussion in the video. They help keep it shooting flat but at a cost of “F the guy next to you” lol. I’d much rather be next to a forward facing muzzle device than a comp 💥 😂 .
