PWS is an awesome manufacturer. One of my favorites today. I love it when companies do things that are innovative. I know they aren’t the first to make piston ar’s but they are doing it well & are continuing to release new products. I see them becoming a major manufacturer. Awesome pick up bro.

I recently received my first PWS, MK116 mod1…yes I had to have that FA. I can say just from handling it, it’s the nicest AR I’ve ever held. After only two boxes of ammo, I’ve never shot a smoother AR either. I absolutely could not be happier. If I had it to do over, I’d own nothing other than PWS. I’m happy with my BCM 14.5 upper, and my DD SBR…not to mention others I’ve carried/used in the Army and for work…Colt, DPMS, Bushmaster, LWRC etc..but this is noticeably smoother, lighter, solid…just a great rifle.

I bought a Mod-1 upper like you have there and I love it. The mod 1 to me is a little nicer than the mod 2 because, which you mentioned, that anti rotation is built into the rail and barrel nut! There’s no way it’ll turn on you. And the “gas seeping” you mentioned isn’t a gas block issue just a heads up. There’s porting on the bottom of the piston guide tube to help with slowing down the carrier as it pushed back🤙🏽🤙🏽they do a great a job too

I SBR'd my MK111pro. I love this system. PWS makes amazing firearms, I am interested in their suppressor line. Alittle heavier than DI Ar's but its part of the beast. Im more of an AK guy, so the weight and piston system in an AR platform makes a very nice "crossover" imo. Only gripe is I wished they gave us more settings in the gas block. Was thinking of getting the MK216; 308, but ended up getting a scar 17. I digress. Nice Vid!

Almost went PWS MK111, but I'm happier with the LMT 12" piston. Most solid handguard(7075 billet monolithic upper FTW!), best modular barrel/gas system(truly two screws, no bendy barrel or handguard *wink*), tooless N and S gas settings. Very accurate and durable CL cryo barrel. It shoots softer than DD 10.3, BCM 11.5 and Zion15 12.5.

Correct me if I’m wrong but id say this is better than a LMT rifle because of the long stroke Piston over the short stroke LMT system. That said the LMT has a CHF CL barrel and the PWS doesn’t. But the PWS is also 1/2-1/3 the cost as well 😂

@TiberiousGib Жыл бұрын
Understandable
@victordogeman4 ай бұрын
You can get spare parts straight from them. That might sound crazy but …. These are the nicest fighting rifles I’ve ever owned, and for the exact reason you stated (proprietary parts) I decided I need a full-on clone of my main rifle, a mk114 pin and weld. Well … it ended up with some different optics and now it’s just two really great guns. That’s when I realized you can buy the parts most likely to break eventually (even though they’re extremely durable AND don’t kick much for the same reason, the long stroke piston design is incredible and having some spare firing pins, extractors, ejection springs etc is just a great feeling. Like the way these guns shoot. I still throw a geiselle in them, and a mk2 buffer… and that combination is already doing a ton of work. Add a warcomp, or an actual muzzle brake ? Whew that thing shoots unrealistically good. I have the surefire RC2 about to break out of silent jail, and that’s gonna be a blast on the mk111 AND the mk114’s. I’ll stop typing and dream more

@ccfmfg8 ай бұрын
@@TiberiousGib That was My personal note to self as to where to restart the video when I can get back to it. But as long as I'm here. PWS makes a quality product but SIG took away their market because once PWS was there they sat on their hands and let others wildly surpass them. Kinda like Maglite and Surefire. Now of course You can have the whole Long stroke verses short stroke conversation. Personally I think They both have advantages. Being able to Work loose/unstick a slightly carboned stuck or sluggish piston with with a Charge Handle/Forward Assit that locks into or is part of the Opt Rod for instance like in a M14 or a Stoner 63A (But not a Stoner 63) is a great feature that a Short Stroke Piston System does not benefit from. But PWS after introducing the Long Stroke Piston to the AR should have continued to innovate by having added a Fully Ambi Bolt Catch/Release with Even Better egos, a Fully Ambi Forward/Bolt Assist/Non Reciprocating Charging Handle (Both ACR/FAL Push-In) while also retaining the AR Style Charge Handle (Similar to the MCX Spear), a Fast or Quick Change Barrel, More Ares Shrike/ Stoner 63/ FN M249 than LMT or MCX) and probably finally move the Recoil System out of the Buffer Tube and into the Receiver so a Folding Shock is Standard. All these things that have been done on other Guns could have all been incrementally added to Their Guns and reverse compatible to everyone else's ARs. The Sig MCX comes closest to this. Rock River's LAR-PDS and the Bushmaster ACR (Although not a AR) actually did a Fairly Good job approaching all these goals on Their Guns. But Eugene Stoner Should have put it all in a Gun First as he had done most of it in separate Guns already. But in His Own Words from the "Stoner Chronicles I wanted to Sell Guns". Which if You listen to it in proper context in the video means He made Ammo and Design Element compromises and Assumptions in the Military version of the AR15/M16 that the Army Ordnance Wiz Kids wanted to Sell Guns. That's why We were stuck with a Under-Powered, Unreliable Varmint Rifle as Our Nation's Military Rifle that got so many Good Men Wounded or Killed for Years and Years till the Good and Smart Men with War Fighting Experience could use Innovation to Break thru some of the Politics of the Bean Counters and Non-Combat, Self-Proclaimed Experts that chose to Ignore 100 years of Ballistic Data and Proven Weapons Technology for an Experimental Civilian Small Game Varmint Rifle.

Nice gun nice review enjoy that it’s long stroke piston not worth 2k+ in my opinion for basically a modernized ak also they should’ve engineered this to be shorter barrel length and buffer less with folding stock then maybe I’d consider spending close to 2k
