PX5 core board replacement - updated to Android 8.0 and 4GB of RAM

In this video I remove the old core board from my Dasaita V600 that had Android 6.0 and 2GB of RAM. I replaced it with a newer core board that upgraded my V600 to have 4GB of RAM and Android 8.0.
I was sent this core board for free, so unfortunately I do not know where you can purchase one.

The V600 has a 10.2 inch screen, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of Storage, a PX5 Octa-core Cortex-A53 chip, and is running Android 6.0
Upgrading the core board essentially turns my Model HA2158-V600 into a Model HA2158-V840-8.. The V840 has a 10 inch screen, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a Rockchip PX5 Octa-Core 64-Bit Coretex A53 processor, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.

The V840 has a 7 inch screen, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a Rockchip PX5 Octa-Core 64-Bit Coretex A53 processor, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.

Update, July 2020 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3i8gZ14ocSajbc I no longer recommend Seicane based on the poor experience that I have had with the company, as shown in the video. While I no longer use Android head units, I have not had any issues with Joying or Dasaita and would have no problem recommending them.

A few reasons. I got the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX and it really meets most of my needs. Android Auto wireless works pretty great. I also don't drive much anymore, so when I do, I don't really want to tinker with a head unit, I just want it to work, which the Pioneer does. Also, audio quality is much better with a name brand head unit and I recently had my speakers installed

How's the unit running so far? I hear the PX5 can have heat issues thus causing the unit to throttle itself by slowing it's operation speed. Have you had such issues with it lagging? I just ordered a unit and trying to decide if I want to stick a passive heatsink on the chip before I install it in my car. Also, how is the screen durability? Any need for a screen protector? Thanks and great vids!

Hayden Wong hey thanks! I have never used a screen protector and it seems fine. I did add some stick on heatsinks and so far I am not sure if they made an impact or not. I am in KY and it has been in the 80s and 90s and so far no issues with the PX5.

Thanks for the video..I replaced my unit with a newer version that it suppose to have 4gb ram and a newer android version (11.0) i think. Somehow I'm not really comfortable with the ram speed i think think my previous one was a bit faster and a smoother. Do you recommend any ram to be replaced?

I know this is a relatively old video and you probably won't see this. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to run the board outside the stereo. I can't figure out what is power in and my board has an HDMI port on it which tells me it should be able to run without the stereo for programming and testing by the developers

NightWalkerasd if you have Auto Sleep enabled, it will boot in a second or two. A full boot takes less than 30 seconds

Have you ever had issues with your GPS freezing up and poor radio reception

I don't recall the radio reception issue, but I never listened to the actual radio. I didn't have any GPS issues either, but I would use the adapter that used the Jeep's GPS

Sebastian C I didn't buy that one, Dasaita sent it to me. But Dasaita doesn't sell them, they were just hooking me up to make a video. However, you can find these boards for sale on eBay and Aliexpress I think, but I can't recommend one or the other.

@@5after12 idk who im talking to, but im pissed my unit doesn't work. the package says from quick. i have the px5 10 inch monitor.. im trying to test it out.i plug in a 12v tester. the monitor turns on for a sec shuts off and blue lights blink.all it does over and over. one of them saying there gonna sent me a board... but i mean? paid for a working unit.not a repair.

I don't believe there is an upgrade capability for the RAM on the Joying

If you can find the right version, i guess it is possible. I was able to upgrade my PX3 to the PX5, however there is not an upgrade path to the PX6. The Intel Sofia units were specific to Joying, so you would have to see if they have an upgrade available

Nick Stidham there are subtle differences, and currently Seicane does not have a 10 inch with Android Oreo and 4GB of RAM, but I think they will soon

Nick Stidham more RAM and a better processor will make the device quicker. I am not sure if that board will work with Seicane or not. Seicane was a "PX3" and Dasaita was "PX5", but I have no idea if that impacts the core board compatibility or not
