I just remembered some fights I’ve had before with pycno where say I’d find a pachy or something and we’d both charge from a distance and collide head on, I remember it was kinda cool feeling because I knew my pycno hit that pachy a lot harder than it did me lol. Really showed how much pycnos hurt when they’re hurling at you max speed.

It should have a tail slot imo, putting both juke and the tail charge-up ability in same category as charge so you have to choose is a bit of a shame. Not too good of turning (maybe for the better) and still gets chased down by metris/ceratos/speed dasp etc isn't a great look tbf. Had a group of griefers run up to me and send me a friend rq and attacked when they were close and metris just tail rode me the whole time i ran not being able to gain any distance from them even though you're a land torpedo lmao

If you get good with head slam you can reliably strike mid tiers as they come charging in and its REALLY effective i think it 2-3 shots conc after a headbutt? But yea its a lot harder to deal with them now

Yo Jeskio, can I recommend Zuchengtyrannus? It’s pretty fun Ngl. Think of it as like a smaller Rex, but plays kinda like a dasp with things bigger than it. Pro Tip for Zucheng pvp btw, Tail Attack is best, but the alt bite is useful against smaller opponents.

@@jurassicjuice2479 duck is extremely underwhelming, it’s the weakest apex by a substantial margin. And 2s cooldown for a 65dmg attack while Rex gets a less than 1s cooldown for a 80dmg attack? Seem really unfair too me, especially since it also has a less than desirable turn radius and only has a single main attack to work with. It really needs a TLC. Or at least a reduction to his claw attack cooldown.

@@jurassicjuice2479well we can’t really bring in realism so justify things because “realistically” a singular raptor could *never* take down a t-rex/trike on it’s own and yet in POT they do (and pretty easily-ish). And ye I do very much agree that duck sits in a very ungreat spot between sub and full apex, as it demolishes mid tiers but gets demolished by any dinosaur in the same tier as it self. I think Duck needs a TLC more urgently than Spino, because Spino has gotten some love in the last year or so, and even got new abilities and slots while duck has stayed pretty much the same, but Spino does need a TLC urgently as well.

I’m glad Pycno got a TLC, but I think it’s somewhat balanced or slightly weaker, it is slightly tankier because of the increased combat weight, it’s still faster and have greater stamina than all the other large carnivores , plus all the new abilities do make it dangerous in groups. Personally I think Pycno solo is weak. I tired it out and Achillos and Ceratos can just tailride you due to having no effective tail attack. Charged tail honestly not that good to use compared to Charge and Juke. Any small carnivore packs can just overpower you and kill you.

Pycno is still BAD after the TLC "buff", I should know; it was my first grow, and I have played as pycno for over a hundred hours. These fights are cherry picked on some pvp community server. On official, you can no longer play as solo pycno and expect to contend with any type of group. You used to be able to run away and use tail, but now you must face them head-on in order to do damage. Even in a 1v1 it is a toss. If they decide to chase you, then you won't be able to turn around to do damage. The build you suggest will get you killed in official as soon as you're body blocked. With no tail attack a campto or struthi will body you. My friend mains campto, and there is NOTHING the pycno can do about it. They are free kills for him. I REALLY REALLY WANT to make pycno work, so I'll give juggernaut another try like you suggest, but last time I used it a bator blocked me and face tanked most of my hp, then chased me to the edge of the Earth.

You can't run from a campto or struthi, and you can't win a 1v1 with them unless you back against a wall. In official, backing against a wall is not an option for a pycno more often than not due to enemies having teammates.

actually charge is bar none the strongest attack pyc has, it does 90 dmg and with juggernaut it does 135, that is 55 more dmg then a rex bite. Even your headbutt only does 35 dmg so charge is really the only way to do good dmg as pyc.

This thing is a pure skill and timing dino. Head slam needs to hit them before your body collides to do massive damage and charge now needs a huge gap to do damage. Tap charging doesn't work anymore, you might as well bite. I love this thing, it does have a good bit of trouble with megs and tailrideing due to its turning but I always lose them on hills with the uphill ignoring skill. I prefer this new pycno now that I understand it
