Math is not my strong suit ... He comments that convolution nets are 'over-hyped' then talks about using HAAR cascades in Open CV. From my limited understanding HAAR cascades use HAAR features which are convoluted across the image. At a VERY high level they sound like the same thing? He did mention that he trained the convolution net from scratch, rather than using the lower portion from else were. Wonder how well the convolution net would work it you used the HARR features as the first layer?

What a confusing and messy presentation, it lacks depth for some of the ideas while it goes at length for less important stuff, while omitting somewhat important and relevant stuff altogether.... But yes, go ahead and give us Raspberry Pi specs rundown, by all means, like it's some obscure piece of tech... 🙄 (@22:44)
