Certainly, Erik. I'm in the process of watching your initial video and eagerly anticipating gaining more knowledge. Thank you for the fantastic videos! 😉

Эрик, здравствуйте! Спасибо вам за ваши видео. Подскажите, когда будет следующий курс по Revit API python? Можно ли его будет оплатить из России?

Do you have a video that shows how to edit bundle.yaml files to get desired plugin organization results on the created ribbon?
@ErikFrits8 күн бұрын
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of using bundle.yaml files myself, so I don't really cover it. I do mention it in a few tutorials but I never go deep. P.S. There are new lessons coming out on KZbin from my Learn Revit API course, keep an eye on updated version of pyRevit Anatomy video in 1-2 weeks.

@@ErikFrits Ah got ya. You know, I noticed in your starter kit, you used xaml files to create stunning UI pieces. Do you have any videos on that, and thanks for your responses.

Thanks for this tutorial Erik. One question though, the context for multiple view types, say for example active-plan-view or active-3d-view, doesn't work in that format. Tried everything and I can't get this to work. Do you know if there is a way to add 'all' like in the bundle.yaml file?
@ErikFritsАй бұрын
Have you tried using bundle.yaml file? I haven't mention it much in the video, but that's an alternative to provide meta data to pyRevit scripts. If it also doesn't work then maybe we need to find another keywords to trigger it.
@CBP81Ай бұрын
@@ErikFrits Yes, in the yaml file it works by using 'all' condition. But I'm not the biggest fan of that bundle file as you have less options than in the script file. I'd rather use the script file to add description, how to etc.

Can we do licensing with this? I want to make my own addin in pyRevit but want to try to make it an official addin. How can I do this with pyrevit? As I am aware doing it in C#, it is easier to do from the beginning, but I haven't heard about this from pyRevit. Is it even possible?
@ErikFrits10 ай бұрын
Not sure if that's possible. I am quite keen on Open-Source so I didn't dive into this question. You can use pyRevit for quick prototyping and then convert to C# once everything works if that's what you want to do ;)

It's certainly possible. However, why make the toolbar for pyRevit, when making it in c# is taking it 2 steps further. If you can make a toolbar/addin in c#, I'm not really sure if pyRevit brings much to the table, except the handy tools it brings by default. Ive made an in-house toolbar for our group. (18 businesses in total). It's a pyRevit toolbar, which consists of python/pyRevit scripts and some dynamo scripts. I'm right now in the process of learning myself c# so I'll be able to make it into an "official" in-house add-in, instead of a toolbar, if that makes sense. I suggest you either learn from Erik, or from the Aussie BIM Guru. (Gavin Crump). He has a ton of useful videos on this subject. @Erik Frits thanks again for an amazing video.
