I can't believe there are many players who misunderstood Mavuika's story lol 1. She is a human who ascended to the title of the Archon through divinity. No human can use the gnosis unless they have divinity, which is why we know that it isn't just some title bestowed upon the strongest in Natlan. 2. She is the pyro archon 500 years ago who decided to put herself to sleep and woke up in the current timeline to lead the salvation of Natlan from destruction. 3. She's not the first Pyro archon. I feel like most players associate the Cataclysm 500 years ago as the start of The Seven - NO, the Archon War, which is a different event, happened more than 3000 years ago, and it's not some battle royale, the events that led to the creation of Seven did not happen at the same time. Going back, in Natlan, the first Pyro Archon was confirmed a male. We don't know actually know how long Mavuika has been an archon, but we do know that she was also the Pyro archon 500 years ago. I assume that in those years that she was asleep, countless heroes have been an archon. Natlan characters have said that there have been many Pyro archons. That could mean that after there could be several archon after the first one died before we got to Mavuika and there have been a couple before she awoken and retook the title. But that's just an assumption. I do not remember the characters saying she is the "2nd" Pyro archon so I came up with that guess. 4. We've known the concept of humans ascending to godhood (Venessa). But this is the first time we hear about a human ascending to be the Archon.

The first Pyro Archon was Xbalanque. It is interesting to know that there were humans who became Archons. I thought only two humans had ascended to Calestia. Vanessa and I forgot the other one. Can't wait for more lore drop in Natlan

So apparently unlike all Archons who live for very long life spans like Zhongli and it's only when killed they seek out a successor, the Pyro Archon even the original is a human whose strength was acknowledged by the Heavens. Pretty much a demigod in that sense. Those who are champion will be granted a portion of the Sacred Flame granting them divine power perhaps or the Archon like all people of Natlan too unleash their true strength through calling out their ancient names so this would really cement them as a demigod. This would also mean the Traveler will have to earn the right to wield Pyro.

Most of the other archons aren't remotely the same species. You can't really generalize shapeshifting to them. Venti was a wind spirit and likely wouldn't have had a defined shape to begin with, Zhongli uses the same adeptal arts as the rest of his kind. The other three mostly just kept one look forever, when body hopping shenanigans weren't involved. I mean realistically you can give the gnosis and authority to anyone, the first seven just had to have earned it somehow. Venti only even got the job because Andrius didn't want it. If the OG Natlan guy was just that much of a badass it is more than acceptable.

My theory is that the pyro archon undergoes a reincarnation cycle, like a phoenix being reborn from the ashes. Since they mentioned that the first and original pyro archon is a mere human who ascended to godhood, maybe he/she developed the sacred flame and pilgrimage tradition to keep her legacy and be reincarnated into the next champion thus passing on the memories and power. What a strange yet interesting take on archons teehee.

Since Mavuika is a human and she can't extend her lifespan she decided to die 500 years ago and resurrect on the present day where her plan has to carry on. (technically like time travel) And it means she just got resurrected in recent times probably 20+ years ago since she still ages despite an archon. If she just got revived then who's the archon of natlan in past 400 years prior to her death 500 years ago? Or maybe natlan was archonless in the past 400 years before her resurrection?

Over the 500 years there are human archons (pilgrimage winners) before the resurrected mavuika So the timeline from 500 years ago to now 500 yrs ago- Mavuika (Pre-death) 500-200 yrs ago- Unknown Human Archons Current- Resurrected Mavuika So now it makes sense why Kachina said that it's a coincidence that Mavuika looks like the statue

To be fair, what Fontaine wants from their ruler is an absolute infallible authority that would never make incorrect judgments. Very inhuman qualities. Natlan, being in the situation it is, values straightforward strength, and they are a sparce tribal society that defend their land from the Abyss together. Having a brave warrior to rally them and continue to hold the line is all they need. And the first pyro archon made that actually work.

They HAVEN'T broken the fact every Archon since the Original 7 has stayed Similar to the Statue. I'm betting she's just a Constant reincarnation of the same Pyro Archon or even the same Pyro archon playing a different Person since each time. Likely sobthat sue stays close to her people while giving everyone the impression that power is not beyond their reach.

I'm not too surprised and it's about time that address that now. Everyone who owns a Vision is a 原神 （Genshin） ("allogene" in EN localization), a precursor to a 神 (god). So, it's not out of the possibility that a human with a Vision ascending to godhood. And due to the localization issue, so far only the EN playerbase not knowing why the game is called "Genshin" (or what is a "Genshin") and not realize the potential of a Vision Holder.

We went from having no archon (mondstadt) to anyone can be an archon (Natlan) And before anyone tell me that Venti is Mondstadt's archon, I know, I meant it in terms of a "visible active archon", Venti never wanted to rule Mondstadt and thus the commun folks don't know where is the Anemo archon or if he's still alive. But seriously, I can understand that Venti want no ruler for his Nation, but Zhongli wanted to retire and leave the position empty while in all other Nations (except Mondstadt) there have been more than one Archon, even the Trasitsa is not the first Cryo Archon, I take it that the devs probably did a minor change because both Mondstadt and Liyue were released in 1.0, maybe. And when I look at it from a different perspective, each next Nation following the chronological order has an archon similar to the last: Venti --> A commun folk in Mondstadt who no one knows he's an Archon. Zhongli --> Used to directly rule Liyue but is a commun folk who no one knows he's an Archon. Ei --> An Archon who rule Inazuma but stayed in her conscious for 500 years. Nahida --> An Archon who stayed in the sanctuary for 500 years then later directly rule Sumeru. Furina --> Directly rule Fontaine as an Archon but she's a human. Mavuika --> A human rule Natlan as an Archon.

I think Archons being humans whom inherit the role makes too much sense given the entire idea of Natlan is for people to inherit the names of their ancestors and their archetypes( such as Kachina being Utabithi and being a resilient girl, surviving a condition which no Natlan person ever did before) and probably their fates too if Simulanka foreshadowed what happened when you receive someon'es name( Like Chibi-Durin receiving the same fear/hate IRL Durin did). So it wouldn't make sense for a Natlan's Archon to have a very long life and never pass their "name" to someone else to inherit, it doesn't fit the thematic of the region regarding names and titles. We don't know how Mavuika managed to resurrect herself, but she probably did the Ode of Reincarnation onto herself but setting a condition for it to be 500 years in the future, because Kachina implied she came and took the Archon's role, so she wasn't reincarnated as an Archon just yet when she came back, she was just another name-holder like Kachina herself. Also, this implies too that Traveler can become the Pyro archon, and have the gnosis, so maybe the reason we didn't get Pyro powers is because we will become Natlan's Archon(Only the title, not that we become's Natlan's ruler, just like how Venti is the Anemo archon but Varka/Jean are the rulers of the land), and with gnosis in hand, Tsaritsa won't be able to finish her collection, and will either have to attack or negotiate with the Traveller, which might be a diplomatic nightmare, especially if Traveler becomes the Archon, therefore having the entirety of Natlan at their side(or rather all the other 6 nations), and probably, by solving the Nation's problem, able to let Natlan people travel beyond the borders without the need of the Wayob's protection. This is also a good excuse for them to make Pyro Traveler a decent character. Only Mavuika was shown as Pyro...in the nation of Pyro... so the fact they are releasing every other element but Pyro in Natlan(Also, Pyro is one of the elements that react with all the other 6), A Pyro character must have some premium quality, and it's not like Pyro visions are rare in Natlan, since even a NPC(Atea) had one. Maybe Pyro Traveler or Mavuika might make all other characters synergize in a way with Natlan characters' Nightsoul Mechanics, making their Blessings and Bursts affect them too, or even give them Nightsoul powers too, especially if the Traveler becomes the Archon(given they modified how Attack Labels work, so an attack can have more than one label such as NA,CA,Plunge,Elemental Skill or Burst).

Basicly the first human pyro archon is ascended human. She then find a way to go into future by killing(seal) herself early and then now rebirth as Mavuika. Basicly she is the first pyro archon. Natlan doesnt have true gods. So in story they can have people(human) inhereting the title archon all this time until today she then rebirth for the plot

Being the strongest, as said by the characters, can grant you the title of Pyro Archon. But I assume the reward is more than just being bestowed a title. After all, no human, no matter how strong they are, can use a gnosis, so she was probably bestowed divinity to ascend the throne of the Archon.

I still feel like something is sus with Mavuika and the statue of the seven because if she died 500 years ago, wouldn’t the statue change with the one sitting on the divine throne? The statue would have had to change from her first death up to her 2nd life. Kachina saying the statue looking the same as Mavuika must mean that the statue didn’t change for 500 years. Why would Kachina say that coincidence if it didn’t mean something else… Also, I find it strange that Celestia is not up at Natlan’s ass for being a nation with no god? Why would they ascend Venessa then? Surely someone must be the God there or they would have pulled another Khaenri’ah by now.
