If you want more power just change bigger valve of starex and piston then turbo

Hi sir Tell me, is it possible to get more power from this engine!
@htn3745 Жыл бұрын
It is possible, but engine is not built for it, it will not hold as long as stock. Main issue is aluminum head on cast block. Different thermal expansion rate means that head is really easy to warp or crack. If you want more power you should focus on turbocharger and fuel pump setup. Possibly advancing the timing but that can be death of your engine if not done right... Do all of this on your own risk !

Will this be the same on a 4D55T? How much did you lower the star wheel?
@htn37453 жыл бұрын
Can't vouch for that it is same on 4d55 engine, but its same family of engines, basically predecessor of 4D56 so i would say its very similar if not same. I rotated star wheel around 3/4 of a turn, but its case to case so you should adjust, test drive to see if it seems ok, monitor EGT and smoke. Basically if you lower it too much, it will smoke as hell until turbo catches up to it. You want that balance where it helps you in lower RPM to get turbo spool up faster but not too much because of excess fuel = high EGT and tons of black smoke.

hi i have a D4bF which is basically a updated hyundai version of the 4D56 - it has a mechanical injection pump , my question is, i want to installa boost gauge,, should i tap into the injection pump boost line or into the wastegate boost line ,,,, interested on your thoughts
@htn37453 жыл бұрын
Hello, basically those 2 lines should be same pressure reading since they are led from same spot on compressor housing outlet. Only factor here, for me anyway, is where is your gauge positioned inside of cab. In my case they are on left A pillar so it make more sense to tap into line closer to that - so I have connected my gauge line near injection pump. If you have right hand version of truck and you want gauge to be on that side, it make more sense to connect near wastegate actuator since it is closer. If you wanna accurate reading of pressure actually going into engine you should tap into intake manifold, that would be most accurate.

where did you put the tee conection for the boost guage?
@joshuacroes61182 жыл бұрын
i connected to the hose from the waste gate to the turbo is that good?
@htn37452 жыл бұрын
@@joshuacroes6118 should be sufficient enough, there could be small variations in different parts of that hose system(connection to wastegate, connection to fuel pump compensator etc). But those are negligible. Most accurate reading of actual pressure going into cylinders would be to tap into intake manifold and connect your hose there. I connected my tee near fuel pump because I wanted my gauge on left A pillar. I did that purely for shortest possible route to my gauge.

@@htn3745 and my feul pump is advanced at timing should i just lower the starwheel?
@htn37452 жыл бұрын
@@joshuacroes6118 Yes, I have my tee connected just before boost compensator on fuel pump. I have never messed with fuel pump timing so I don't know much about that. Starwheel controls preload on your compensator spring, so if you lower it, lower boost pressure would be needed to push plunger down. It means lower the starwheel is, fuel get increased earlier. If you over do it, it could cause black smoke because you get more fuel with lower boost pressure so air-fuel mixture is not balanced.
