I'm glad you finally went ahead with this serpentine setup 💡 idea looks great. Engine bay will look alot more clean and more area between the radiator and engine pulleys, great work

Just came across this video while looking for ALDA adaptor parts. Have an OM617 motor into an 85 defender 110 and will definitely upgrade to the ribbed belt soon. The alternator configurations are different but will be using the the power steering pump setup to get power steering at the same time.

I have posted and "name dropped" your site on jeep forum, thanks so much for making this adapter for Jeeps, I highly suggest you keep going that direction, I really suggest you make an oil pan and motor mounts for the Jeep wrangersl, XJs and Zjs!

I see you used an AD244 alternator. I'm using AD244 on my QSB3.3 / Jeep ZJ conversion. I like the way you welded the tabs on the base plate. I was planning on using a bar of square stock to fit between the alternator feet. I think I like your method better. Thanks.

Awesome! Could you include the part numbers for the short water pump, tensioner, and belt? Thx!

They're all linked and explained on the kit's webpage

Your kit looks very well designed and built. My only concern might be if there is enough belt wrap on the water pump pulley. You have over 180* of belt wrap on both the power steering pump and alternator (which is ideal), and more than 90* on the A/C and crank pulley. It looks like there's only around 40* of belt wrap on the water pump pulley. Do you think belt slip might be an issue there?

I haven't seen any yet. Water pump pulley shouldn't see restriction with no fan on it.

referring back to your OM617 remote oil filter adapter plate : the oil filter body assy contains an oil thermostat. do you delete the thermostat and run all the oil through a cooler ? or do you delete the cooler completely ?
@doomsdaydiesel3 жыл бұрын
You replace it. The instructions/diagram are on my website.

Just got the serpentine belt kit for the om617, running the 2 idlers, no vacuum pump, no ac, just power steering pump, alternator, and water pump. Anyone have part numbers for a belt?

What is this I hear about the flex plates and flywheels are being balanced with the engine
@doomsdaydiesel3 жыл бұрын
The crank assembly is balanced together when the engine is built. So, if you remove any component, like the flexplate, you need to match balance whatever you're replacing it with to be safe.
@cocopublicnews67663 жыл бұрын
@@doomsdaydiesel so you need it balanced with the crank or just the flex plate balaced I just bought one on ebay was set up for a boat so I'm sure it's all been changed
@doomsdaydiesel3 жыл бұрын
@@cocopublicnews6766 you must balance your new flywheel to the old flexplate. Mercedes didn't put witness marks on these flexplates for some reason, so if you already took it off and don't have a reference, you're out of luck.
