Python Hunting With Moose My New Python Dog. Today, i'm heading back out to the Florida everglades to python island to see if I can get another big girl. This time i'm bringing moose along with me keep me company. The first day was a total bust but I got a lot of good spots to come back to on my GPS. The second day was not looking good so I clocked out from the state and decided to see what moose could do and MAN was I impressed. This guy was able to find 2 pythons within a 3 hour period and I couldn't be happier!

Moose was just exploring and seeing the little one you found on the road-he’s a good boy. Just a note-my dad used to say, every delay means you were where you were supposed to be - you never know what might have happened if you hadn’t been delayed. As irritating as it is sometimes, consider it God’s hand keeping you protected. Blessings

I have worked across the world for many years and used to take plant life back to the UK not knowing the possible damage I might be doing introducing invasive species to the country. I was lucky I was educated quite early and stopped immediately and removed any I had planted in my garden. I follow you because the work you are doing to educate everybody of the huge problems caused by introduction of plant & animals that don't belong there. More power to you for your great work.

I'm glad you made that decision but it is a little odd to me that it never occurred to you. It's also odd that you weren't caught by customs because they search on normal channels of entry. You must have done it knowing that it was going to be taken if customs found it and found a work around... I can understand customs missing once but you said several times you've done this which tells me they couldn't possibly have missed several instances of this.

I understand not using a dog for a python hunt competition. But why does the state restrict their use during a normal hunt? Isn't the objective to kill as many snakes as possible?

I think its because they pay out more when larger snakes are caught and someone with a dog could be seen to have an unfair advantage...

Not allowing dogs to find the pythons is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. I thought the idea was to track down the pythons and exterminate them! Whatever method that doesn’t put humans at risk is needed to have victory over this invasive species!

It ironic that a little old dog identical to the one you found showed up by my pond one day half frozen , it was about 10° out. He was blind and smelly but I took the little guy in bathed him trimmed him up and he was with us for almost 3 good years then passed but we gave him a couple of loving years at the end😊

Make sure u run a dog with moose to train the other dog. Grampa always had an all terrain dog, a hound that would hunt anything. We had a treeing walker that learned rabbit from a neighborhood beagle, bird from a german shorthaired pointer, deer from an arkansas deer hound & taught himself squirrel while running with the kids that hunted. Never kill anything that isn't ur game in front of him if he does go off game. Turn it loose & walk away, even if u have to go back later for it. Leaving it tells him that's not what u want, doesn't complete the game. I do enjoy watching ur hunts. Thanks.
