The Florida Python Challenge 2020 Python Bowl removed 80 invasive Burmese pythons from the Everglades while simultaneously helping to raise awareness about this important conservation issue. Pro grand prize winner Mike Kimmel won a Tracker 570 Off Road ATV for removing eight pythons.

Too bad no matter how many you catch or kill,it's like pissing on a forest fire. There is an estimated 150 thousand of them now. I could never do what you do. I'd be soiling myself.I don't like any snakes.

So. 1-Irresponsable owners lost them or let them go when they couldn't take care of them. 2-Pet stores were destroyed in hurricanes and they got out. Now there's 150 thousand of them slithering around destroying the indigenous animals in the Everglades.

@@ElGrantRikun1 they are invasive because they dont belong there. It is not their native habitat. A well balanced ecosystem has a certain amount of prey and predators.. when you introduce a new species to a habitat it can throw off the balance and have devastating consequences. These pythons thrive in the everglades and the adults have no natural predators so they have unusually large numbers and decimate all the native species and throws the whole ecosystem out of whack. They are really beautiful animals in their natural habitat where only few of their offspring survive ( they have plenty of predators who eat the eggs and as well as the smaller ones) to adulthood and keeps everything in balance.

@@ElGrantRikun1 pythons are just probably one of the worst but there are plenty. Florida is a major hub for imported exotic animals because of the climate . The tropical warm weather and high humidity makes it easier for these animals to survive . When they become too much too feed or handle these owners often release them into the wild where they take hold and thrive ( again because of the weather) and wipe out native species
