Spot on. The ZCam E2F6 is such a workhorse and low-light monster. I also love that there are SO many resolutions at 4, 5 and 6k, making it so flexible. Like you've found, if you know how to expose and grade its footage, the DR is really good. Like all cameras though, it's not the right camera for everything. That said, I have found I've used it a ton more than all my other cameras 🙂

BS1H is a full frame 6k box style cam from 2022 and it’s even more similar to the Pyxis than the ZCam because both cameras have THE SAME SENSOR. Couldn’t agree more with this video.

The Z CAM E2-F6 tested dynamic range from CineD is 11.5 stops at SNR 2. CineD rates the BMPCC 6K at 11.8 stops at SNR 2. Paule Porter's YT video also thoroughly demonstrates how the Z CAM suffers in the shadows compared to the BMPCC 6K. Nope, not dizzy at all man. My Pyxis is on preorder!

That has not been my experience with the Zcam. I don't know from tests, I just know from my practical hands on experience using the camera on a weekly basis for the past two years, that the dynamic range is very impressive. I've not seen it suffer in shadows, I've seen it out perform the Ursa Mini, and rival the Sony. But all I have to go on is my hands on experience... and good! I hope the Pyxis works out for you! I never meant to dissuade anyone from getting it, I just suggested that you evaluate your needs, and consider the whole market instead of just blinding buying the newest release.

Thank you I been preaching this. Everybody drooling over the Pyxis when the z cam e2f6 has everything the Pyxis has and have better rolling shutter and it have Sony level low light that don’t get talked about out enough you can actually get one for $2000 and in my opinion the image is better than the Pyxis and the OG Komodo. I’m buying the z cam in a few weeks

The UMP is a super 35 camera while the Pyxis is a FF camera. The low light and DR on the Pyxis will absolutely stand up to the ZCAMs, Sonys and Panasonic FFs.

Thats actually a good point that I didn't think about. the Pyxis being a FF will perform better than the Ursa in low light... will it "absolutely" stand up to the Zcam and Sony though? I don't know, we'll have to wait till it's released and people are able to test it and see.

Yes, the Pyxis has the same sensor, but BM has already said it has better thermal management with the box body. My Pyxis is on preorder! With preorders being so insane though... I hope actually get one in June.

@@andynonimuss6298 from my experience with the Zcam for the past 2 years, it's dynamic must be higher than that. I've been regularly impressed with it.

yeah but apart from the "specs", what comes out of the ZCams, just sucks. If it was really good, with a good ecosystem and everything that comes with it, it would be more popular. But it isn't. Low light is not a good metric. Image quality and usability is. It's not a bad camera by all means. It just doesn't have what it takes IMHO Obviosuly, pick the camera that works for you.

See, that has not been my experience at all. As I said in the video, I've been using the Zcam in a professional setting with Company-X for the past 2 years, and I have been consistently impressed with it's footage. I wouldn't say it sucks at all, from my hands on experience I'd say it easily rivals the big boys. As far as ecosystem, I don't think it needs it. As far as I know, BMD is the only camera company that has their own post production software, and the professional environment doesn't even use it. But you can shoot with the Zcam, as with any other camera, and use its footage with any NLE... of course low light, by itself, is not a good metric. NO spec, by itself is. But I've been praising so many things, including the image quality and usability, which I find to fantastic... so I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with you.

@@ThomasTulak absolutely fine! to each their own. If the ZCam works well for what you do, more power to you!
