hey steve.. u dont duck dive them.. i got a 9'0" i use at sunset thats over 3" think.... i cant duck dive it.... u gota find another way through-over-under!!

Any thoughts on using this in average big surf? I live in the PNW and need something for 10ft+. My local is a beach break that holds quite a bit of size and current, sometimes mushy take offs but bowly and hollow on the inside and double overhead point surf. Not surfing Nelscott reef, Jaws etc. Just need something for confidence on those unicorn days. May visit a buddy at OB san fran. My current step up is a 6'4 Fred Rubble. TIA!

I have to say first, this is the most in depth heads up on this board so I thank you for that. Can I ask, in a pinch, could you duckdive the 8'0" a couple of times if you got caught inside? I have a nice 7'6" similar in design to the Paddilac and find I am able to push through a few waves if need be, but that is only 2 3/4" thick. I am roughly 6'1" and 185lb. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide further to this great review.

Steve, we hate to ever say you "can't" do something because people are of so many different abilities, but as @Marco Van Doornum said as well, the larger Padillacs are very tough to duck dive. The 8'0" Padillac is just over a half inch thicker than the 7'6" board you have been using, but a half inch along an 8' board is a lot of foam. They paddle like a BEAST though, so you can rip out there and may not find yourself stuck on the inside as often as you'd think!

I’ve got an 8”0 over here in west oz , can get under a bit but it’s bloody hard work , don’t get caught inside paddle out the back

Nice reviews,I agree about the fins size,no need of to much fin in big fast surf ! whats the board full measurement at the vid ? and does the bottom is single concave ? Thanks.
