hi roman Q&A tuesday is my favourite. I would like to propose a challenge if you dont mind~ You need to find the perfect 3 watch collection! The collection must include the following: 1 An everyday watch [one that you wear at home, at the store, on diy projects, take camping, and sleep with it on the wrist] 2 A casual watch [one you wear at dinner with friends or a night out, birthday parties, and any situation where you might meet new people that might take a glance at your wrist] 3 A formal watch [one you wear at a wedding, christmas, easter and new years eve] To make it harder your budget is $10000(or £10000 if you re struggling) GOOD LUCK! (love your channel btw)

Always interesting to listen to a man who knows their trade, whether it’s sweeping the street or cutting open peoples hearts . Pay attention and you’ll always learn something. No exception here.

Those are some creative examples Joe but hey, I'll take it. It's true that there's always something to be learned from someone who knows their trade😋

Interesting point you made regarding the retail price trends. The only time I saw a big brand lower their retail price was a couple of years ago with the current model Vacheron Overseas. Although they never made it public (I’m guessing to preserve their brand image) but the price was lowered from c. 21.2k CHF to 20.7k CHF here in Switzerland🇨🇭. This was back when people were ignoring the Overseas completely, however, it might be different now that there’s more interest in this model. Price is still CHF 20.7k.

yes and often times these small changes are just to let currencies that changed in major markets catch up.

I'm not sure why but it makes me feel good when your psyched about your purchases. Plus very informative when you give the financial rundown given the original retail selling price and what your sales price will be.
@RomanSharf4 жыл бұрын
We did think the financial rundowns would be helpful for some and it's difficult not to get psyched out over a great watch. I can't help it 😋

Hi Roman One more interesting Q&A. My question to you is related to the answer you gave about importing watches. As an international traveler do I need to have any paperwork for my own watches that I travel with. I usually like to take 2 or 3 watches with me when I travel including the one on my wrist. Thank you for your answer in advance. John
@mikemike01064 жыл бұрын
The Watch Enthusiast, If you live in europe i suggest you do, customs can ask where they been bought, because of tax reasons. If you return from a trip for example and they want to know if you bought it inside europe or outside, you can show where they’re from. But again that’s inside europe.
@RomanSharf4 жыл бұрын
For US customs no, but see below from @Mike MIKE010 about Europe they can be a real pain

Rolex is known to be that occasional "exception to the rule" because the watches usually hold their value really well but you have to know the market to know which is worth the $$$.
@birajudoshi34634 жыл бұрын
Roman Sharf very true! I learn that every time I buy a watch. You had said in one of the videos that was the most honest statement I have heard from any businessman, that you as a dealer can know how to and make money on watches, we as consumers aren’t as privy to that info (sure can get lucky few times). It goes for any business but that comment helps you realize watches are good hobby and there is a difference in that and a business. Lot of people think of this as a side hustle, make a quick buck but most are bound to get burned in my opinion.

@@RomanSharf Q&A Tuesday James Bond, with the release of the latest edition imminent my question/questions to you are as follows. Do you like the movies? and your thoughts on Daniel Craig and his Omega Seamaster? Could they have chosen a better and more suitable watch or brand for today, having used Rolex, Pulsar, Seiko, Tag and Breitling in the past? Which watch and compulsory gadget would you choose from all 24 films? Hopefully a fun question for you to answer! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and time, love the videos.

Love the watch but you know I am biased I love AP, but you cant go wrong with pretty much any Steel RO, blue dial would be the better one.

Speaking of materials...I am curious about differences and sustainability in rose/red gold color between the brands. For instance, I’ve had a Vacheron Toledo in rose gold, bought it 2007 and it lost color fairly quickly, within couple of years, and looked totally yellow gold (main reason why I god rid of it). I know that Rolex for instance claim their ever-rose gold stays the same, and that copper inside never oxidize…. What about other brands like Patek, Breguet, Journe, V.C, AP? (Journe and AP look pretty red in color, idk if it stays like that) I don’t think this topic was ever covered, but it is important for us to know before buying… I am looking at VC traditionnelle with guilloche dial, looks stunning in rose gold, but I’m afraid of it losing the color…
@RomanSharf4 жыл бұрын
I hate to say this but overtime most rose gold watches will loose color

Another great video. Quick question regarding Asian market. Due to the coronavirus, are we starting to see a slow down in watch sales. On my travels around the world. I usually see in high end shops, Chinese customers buying all hyped expensive goods. I'm hearing now that some ADs are calling customers at more frequent pace for hyped watches with long waiting lists. Some ADs are admitting it's due to less chinese customers coming in. Will this cause a small correction in the market. May this just have to do with just some stores receiving higher quantity of inventory. I'm looking to potentially add another Rolex steel sports to my collection this year. Either explorer 2 or submariner hulk or explorer 1. Thanks again.

Hi Roman, Another great Q&A vlog. Thank you! hope you enjoyed Aruba! I have few questions: 1. Are the double signature dials or case backs with significant well respected brand or royalty still being produced by any manufacturer? Such as Rolex with Oman khanjar crest, Tiffany & Co with Rolex (I understand Patek - Tiffany & Co, dials are still possible and I understand some blogs like Hodinkee have limited editions but I meant more exclusive or important such dual dials or case back engravings). If so, what are your thoughts on them holding value? 2. What are your thoughts about Valjoux 72 and the hype around it? Are there deals to be had from brands that used that movement but havent garnered much attention (such Enicar lately) Thanks, Biraju
@RomanSharf4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Biraju, Aruba was awesome and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Silver can probably be made to not rust, and gold is not a durable metal, no.. but for people who want a more exclusive material than steel, there is already white gold

Unsure if you respond to comments but I’m wondering if I should sign up for the Rolex waiting list for things like the Pepsi or hulk. I can’t afford to keep them but I would be signing up and waiting for the call so I can flip them. I’ve heard that they don’t give you a Rolex card anymore and instead they will give you a paper copy, is this a problem with selling it after you buy it?

Hi Roman, many thanks for your video. i have been watching your channel for a long time now. Thanks to your constant introduction of AP, i pulled the trigger and bought a brand new AP ref. 26401RO.OO.A002CA.02. AP has taken away all dealerships in singapore and theirs watches are only available in their boutiques now, do you think that such a strategy will increase the price of AP in the secondary market in the shorter term? Many thanks in advance for reading and answering my post.
