Yes! Been watching you for years. You're so beautiful, interesting and sweet. Your voice soothes me in a bad day and you make me laugh. I would never in a million years have thought anyone would say anything negative about you. People are just dumb. Love your stuff. Keep being you, whatever you you want to be and we'll be here for it (even if we don't always say so).

Power to you Lauren. Just ignore everyone, trust your gut instinct. I got pressure to be a mother into my 40s. I’m 48 and I have not bred or married. I love being an Aunty. I’m not suited to have children 24/7 for a lifetime. The world, as you say, is vastly over populated. So many people just have kids without thinking it through. You are so lucky to be born into a generation that has a choice. Not long ago it was hugely shameful for women to not breed or marry. Women are sold so much crap about weddings and children. To be a strong, kind woman is the most important thing. Keep up the great work.

Yeah that is true but what I think why most woman dont want to have kids nowdays is that self image is much more important - like looking good and in shape and travel and so on that for many woman this became something they dont want to sacrifice for taking care of their own child…and that is sad …I believe when most woman hit 40 and more years they may regret this decision but not all of them of course…

@@Denny-up3pi well there are people who are not child free but choose to delay having children for the reasons you mentioned then they regret it. People who are child free don’t just want children and also want to travel,. No. They DONT want children, regardless of their other desires in life. It’s about the child itself and parenthood that they don’t desire. It’s not about them wanting both, but wanting one more than the other.

The motherhood “regret” feeling is so hard to try to process. No one really talks about it so I really appreciated your take on it and bringing it up. I’m dealing with my postpartum depression as best as I can and it’s nice to hear other people think the same thoughts. Some mothers (like me) don’t have much family or friends to help. It seems (to me) some influencers that seem to be “perfect and happy” mothers probably have family, childcare, and things that not all of us have/can afford helping them. Thanks for understanding how complicated it can be. It’s nice not to feel alone, even just for a little while. 😊

I had my daughter at 40. We weren’t ready beforehand. The amount of people that assume I had my daughter so late because I had trouble conceiving or had IVF is astounding. Even when I was pregnant I would have people say “she’s a special baby, you’ve waited a long time for her”. Um no we were busy living our lives and when we decided to have a baby, I got pregnant straight away. It’s sad we even have to justify why we don’t want kids or why we want them later. Our families never pressured us except my sister, she was really annoying. I love love having a child and now wished I had more but that’s my choice and I don’t feel the need to question other people’s choices. I work in early education and yes people definitely regret having children. You do you and continue living your best life x

Thanks to you , I finally realized that I really don't want kids a few years ago. I think you had a podcast episode some time ago about it and it really got me thinking. Then a few months ago you talked about it again in a video like this and I really thought it through. Kids really are not for me either. Looking back when I had the feeling that I wanted kids at around 28, I realized I would've done it for others and out of the pressure from the outside. A lot of people in my circle got kids and I thought I should have them too. I'm so glad I wasn't at a time in my life to get kids (still studying) because I know I would've regretted it. There's nothing appealing about pregnancy or motherhood to me. I'd rather travel, see the world, be independent and cuddle with my cat 😄

And p.s loved your chat about not wanting a kids (I have always felt the same) and totally agree when you said that people don’t even really think about how serious it is to have kids and don’t really fully think about it they just think of the “sold dream” of it. When I bring this up to my friends they think I am judging them for wanting kids which I am not I just state to really think about it fully as it’s such a big decision. I feel a lot of people also don’t talk about how it completely changes your relationship with your partner and also with yourself…I don’t know I just see more challenges with it then reward lol.

It's super sad when they ask about your work and social relations. It only comes to show that for some people their work is the *only* source of validation and human interaction... To them I would say: for your own good, get a hobby, join a club, pick up a sport or classes. Just about anything wil do... Whatever company you work for will NEVER pay you or give you anything that justify devoting your whole life to it.

To the person who asked the what to do if your partner isn’t open - I’m the one that struggles to be open and my fiancé is the open one. We sat down and had a serious conversation about it and he suggested I start therapy to work out why I don’t want to be open and it’s helped heaps. Still hard conversations to have but it’s been good help to discuss with a ‘stranger’ and then slowly start opening up to my fiancé

I love the conversation about children/being child free. I am passionate about not having children. I have no interest in having children, not even the "it would be cute to have a mini me" (I absolutely despise myself, why would i want another one?) I have never wanted kids. Never been comfortable around them. And my boyfriend and I recently got into an argument and he told me he never wants to marry me (which I am interested in and is one of my only goals in life) unless I give him children. I fight with myself every day trying to decide if we will work it out or if I'm going to be forced to carry and give birth and spend the rest of my life taking care of a child I don't want just so I can stay with him.

@@liebchen1983 thats the thing tho. I was single for several years and every guy i met and every guy i've ever dated have wanted kids. He was the first guy who said he didn't really care if he had kids or not because he couldnt envision a life either way. But now all of a sudden he was like well, i'm not putting a ring on your finger until you stop birth control so we can have kids. I was like, what? What was the point of starting to date and being together for this long, moving in together, and meshing our lives if you dont want to get married unless i do something i told you explicitly and we agreed on not doing?

@@ButterMeLonely Man what a backflip on his behalf. I hate that he's giving you an ultimatum for such a life-changing decision. I agree with the person above. Even if it takes a little longer for you to find someone who's on your page, I can almost guarantee you'll be happier being single than you would raising a child that you never wanted. Even if he's a very supportive partner (which I'm doubting if he's backed you into a corner like that) and helps with the baby as much as possible, that baby will still need you much more than him, and you will still be putting in a whole lot more work than he will be. It's so easy for him to say he wants kids when someone else is doing most of the work. I encourage you to put yourself first. You both want different things out of life, and it's frustrating that he only just realised that now, but better to cut your losses now than surrender to a life that you know will make you miserable ❤

Girl I don’t know you but I relate on the “I despise myself why would I want a kid”. Don’t do it just for a man. There’s women that want to have kids and get PP depression for years. @@laurencurtis thank you for responding! Wow, hi, I've been following you since i was like in middle school 😭 i totally agree, and thats what i told him: no matter what, the baby changes my life forever in many different ways, and it only changes his in one. It's really too tough on me to just be like "sure, lets do it even though i dont want to!" I see you as a friend that I don’t speak with 😅 not having kids should be more normalized… I’m 27 and I wanted kids so bad bc it’s what everyone wants but I don’t think I’ve the profile for it. I don’t want to wake every couple hours or my life be around a kid and the more I think the less I want to do that to my body and myself. Hey Lauren, thanks so much for talking about the kids thing. I feel the exact same way and just recently was able to trust my gut and openly be like: Nah thank you, it’s not for me. My partner and I are fine with how it is. We have his kids coming over every other week but don’t want any of our own. I just turned 30 this year and people always were like: the wish for a kid will just come with time. And I was like…. lol but when? People just don’t really understand it but it’s becoming much more of a thing and this makes me happy. Recently we were talking to a married couple that we’re getting to know and my partner was like: so when are you guys having kids? And they were like…. very hesitant but then like „we don’t really think we will“ and so I chimed in like THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT US TOO!!! She felt so relieved to have someone that feels the same way! And you know.. just think about all the kids whose parents didn’t feel like being a parent and thus (eventually maybe hopefully not lol) cannot fully provide emotionally, mentally or whatever it might be. If you don’t have it in you, you just don’t.

I just think they're way easier and faster to use, don't need to be wet, sponges absorb so much makeup, they also need to be cleaned more frequently (I spot clean/sanitise my brushes in between uses which is hard to do with a sponge)!

i totally get the marriage thing. my husband and i also didnt do the traditional engagment ring and wedding ring. i have a beautiful eternity ring with diamonds in them that isnt too big or too thin. i also didn't bother with the wedding day at all. my husband and i eloped in the morning, then went and got a good steak and went home to eat the cake i made the day before. the dress i wore i ordered it a week before online and got a 50% discount 😂 i truly couldn't care less about a party or anything. i actually didnt want one. its just not me. i also dont feel like the marriage changed anything in our relationship. we just have some great tax benefits bc he works full time and im still studying. so yeah 😄

Hi Lauren I enjoyed this video! We share the same values!! For example it is so refreshing to hear you say, and I don’t know how old you are (but I am 35, you must be younger;)), that you are childfree. I am too and Im unfortunately surrounded by people who has kids or want them in the near future. And also, I’m an introvert as well and have a 9 to 5 job haha. I’m SO GLAD most of the days I can work from home. Love it!!! I have so much more energy. And yes what is a real job?! I like your snarky ness ;) I would have respond in the exact same way. And no I don’t feel you offended me in my office job.

I love my 9-5 (more like 7-7 haha) and could never do social media or even work for myself. Did I find your comment snarky? Nope. I found the original question came across uneducated and rude. People who feel trapped in the corporate grind could definitely be projecting there - my advice to them is that if you don’t like it, then change it, stop wasting your energy trying to bring others down. I think you handled that quite well, tbh 😊

Social Media know has become such a “justification” environment and I’m so appalled with people in general. You watch what you want to watch; you subscribe to who you want to…for your own reason. Lauren, let me put my 5 cents worth…EACH to their OWN. You don’t need to justify yourself with comments or questions that tries to break positive people; owness lies with the person not you. You do you and we enjoy what you do therefore we watch you.

As a feminist since the 1970s I get so tired of hearing this generation's young women still asking about having children. Why do we do that to each other? What's the relevance of that question to who we really are? If people don't want to have children, what does someone gain by knowing the answer to that question. It's the same when people ask a newly divorced woman - "are you dating?" What the hell. Do women really think that that is the sole defining fact about a woman? I'm so tired of that crap. Be a rebel - ask questions of someone you don't know that are interesting, relevant, and where you truly find out something that matters.

A feminist since 1970s… oh hell. Sorry to break it to you.. but did you know the feminist ‘movement’ was the biggest scam of all time?? THE BIGGEST SCAM! Did you know Rockefeller actually made that movement.. because he wanted to make more money on taxes.. so he literally MADE this movement so women went to WORK so THEY could make more money???? He also pushed this movement so Children ended up in daycare (the system) so THEY MADE MORE MONEY AGAIN! He also made this MOVEMENT so he had control over the population and made everyone work like SLAVES! And well did he succeed.. all we do is work in this expensive world like slaves. And he achieved this. That’s what the feminist movement was about. So congrats on being apart of this stupid scam movement where if one parent wanted to even stay home with their child and not HAVE THE SYSTEM raise them they can’t because it’s so expensive, and well ‘oh your a stay at home mum’ ‘take them to daycare’ go to work…. and that was he’s goal all along. So well done 🙄
