I work in medical research. 13 years is an incredibly long time. Of course there's a lot of uncertainty, but amazing things are coming in the next decade. Just hang in there, revolutionary things are coming.

@@diaryofeireann Here's the best advice I can give. It's great you are living in Ireland. That's wonderful! Enjoy it! In the back of your mind, be prepared to pick up and move anywhere on a dime. You want to position yourself where ever the best trials are. I did this. Do your own research. This is really important. Even the best doctors are not aware of all the different projects going on. Then when it's your time, move. I know it is difficult. My trial was in Toronto, New York, Texas, and Chicago. Chicago was farthest along, so that is where I went. I met the neurosurgeon and the rest of the team. This next part is almost too sad to share. Halfway through the clinical trial was canceled because the results were too disappointing. Out of 120 people, 6 of us responded. Over time, I learned I was one of the 6. It was great news (for me), but at that moment I felt sick to my stomach. All those other people...since I was one of the first, they were using my (unusually) good results to attract more participants. What I'm trying to say is, in your mind, you have this narrative, this expectation colored by fear over how things all might play out in the future, but you don't know how things will *actually* play out. I would NEVER have predicted the outcome I experienced. That is the prime reason why doctors will avoid the question of your ultimate lifespan. *Hugs*

Éireann, hello again! This is such an upbeat video and it makes me so happy to know you are in this mindset. Remember they are always working on new and improved medication for many things. In 6 months there could be lots of progress in lots of things and as always, no one knows anything for certain. You're so bubbly and positive with good focus on the future and what you want. Hopefully the MRI shows good results. I wonder if returning home has given you a more positive attitude. It's stronger now, I think. I'm happy for you and excited to see you planning a wedding. Being positive and showing gratitude will get you far. I could actually do better with these so I'll take a page from your book on that. Élreann, I found your channel on recommendations with your first tumor video. I was so touched by your position as a young girl that randomnly needed to go through some tough things, before I wasn't that much into people's illnesses journeys. Two months ago, my mother, 60y/o, got diagnosed with leukemia. It has been the biggest shock we've ever got. The hours or days at the hospital, the sometimes good sometimes doubfull sometimes bad hospital and health care services, the hope and despair, the money and savings running like water. Now things are not exactly ok, but you are damn right, we are grateful of what we currently have, a house were to return and the daily support of my siblings to take care of my mom. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and your plans, the best wishes to you :')

I have a cousin that had a brain tumor that was cancerous. He had surgery to have it removed and is taking drugs to help keep it in check. I have no idea what kind but he was told it would not be totally cured but he’s still going strong 10 years later and enjoying life.

I have my own skin cancer problem that changed my life forever..... I AM A WALKING AUTOPSY.... THEY CUT BITS FROM HERE AND THERE.... BUT WHEN IT TOOK OVER MY FACE... I WAS IN AGONY..... AND I GOT A BRILLIANT TEAM WHICH INCLUDES MY HUSBAND AND YOU WOU NEVER NOTICE A THING... LOTS OF SKIN CRAFTS AND I WAS AWAKE... TO MAKE YOU LAUGH.. MY FOREHEAD IS ON MY RIGHT CHEEK... MY LEFT CHEEK IS ON MY CHIN.... ETC ETC.... ANOTHER LAUGH I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD AND IN RECUPERATION FOR 14 DAYS... QUIET AS A MOUSE.... BUT WHEN MY SIS AND I STATED OUR CHATS... I COULDN T KEEP STILL... SO I PULLED A STICH ON MY NOSTRIL.. HARD TO SEE BUT WAS WORTH THE LAUGH ABOUT OUR CATS... NEXT WEEK, ANOTHER SKINGRAFT ON MY FACE.... BUT I AM SO LUCKY WITH THE TEAM I HAVE... KEEP YOUR EYES SHING AND THAT BEAUTIFUL SMILE ON YOUR FACE... WE ARE STRONG.. YOU LL OVERCOME EVERYTHING❤
