@@jeremywills9303 That Hornady Sub X 190 grain destroyed my Sandman S and I had to send my can back to Dead Air to be fixed. The 8.3" Hanson barrel doesn't stabilize it, I was key holing at only 25 yards. Try shooting a paper target at 25 yards without your can and make sure that it isn't key holing so u don't destroy your can!

Question for Clint / Jason: When building an AR, and testing head space on the barrel. What do we do, when our New barrel, does not pass a Go Gauge test, or lock into battery with a live round in the chamber? I do NOT want an unsafe gun! Do Go & No Go gauges differ in size, by manufacturer?
@rogerpemberton79
@rogerpemberton79 5 жыл бұрын
You should always use the same manufacturer for both go and no go gauges to prevent tolerance stacking. Your best bet is to either one buy the barrel and bolt/BCG together so headspace can be checked before being shipped or send your bolt into the barrel manufacturer. Krieger barrels has started chambering to JP Enterprise barrels for this very reason. JP bolts are tight enough in tolerances that even if you don't buy a JP bolt from Krieger with the barrel you can buy a JP bolt from somewhere else and still have go headspace.
@chrissewell1608
@chrissewell1608 5 жыл бұрын
@@rogerpemberton79 Good info Sir! I do have a set of Forster, Go & No Go Gauges. But, like many builders, I have a variety of parts, purchased at various times. And as I understand it, you can never prevent "Tolerence Stacking". Because, it is a series of fitting issues, that all parts either fit and work together, or they don't fit & don't operate.

Another question. As an iron sight shooter and a big fan of an A2 front sight post.....why isn’t there a 300 blackout upper with A2 front sight post? I know the gas port isn’t there under the sign post, but it would be nice to have a 300 blackout that matches 5.56 uppers since I’ve trained non stop for 17 years with an A1 and A2 front sight post system. Any thoughts? Maybe it’s just a comfort thing with me. But sure would be nice to have a 10.5, 14.5, or a 16” upper in 300 blackout like the 5.56 uppers I’ve trained with. I’m not old, I’m only 39 but when you are LEO, many agencies require a fixed A2 front sight post. We were originally issued government Colt M16’s.......
@illiniarmory3142
@illiniarmory3142 5 жыл бұрын
And to add to it, I have two 9mm uppers. One is 16” and one is 10.5”. Both have a2 front sight posts. I know it’s different than a 300 blackout since it’s blowback, but they still have an A2 post up there. Is this something you guys can machine and make special (taper pins on a 300 blackout barrel)? Many police officers talk about wanting to carry the 300 blackout more on duty. My policy and many many others REQUIRE a fixed front sight post. Also, you train with what you know. I’m sure there is no difference with flip ups on a mlok rail, but I likes what I like. Similar people have expressed the same. Just curious if you guys would be willing to make a 16” Carbine clone of LE6920 or skip the cut outs and make just a government profile 16” clone of a 5.56 in 300 blackout for the babies like me lol

This is great information. I live in CA and pistols are not allowed so I’m considering a 13.7 pin and weld pistol length gas system AR with a 1/7 twist and a nox keymo flash hider. I’m primarily going to run supers and occasionally some subs and using for home defense and at the range and some hunting. Will the 1/7 twist run reliably for both SuperSonic and subs? And for what I’m doing is the 1/7 the best choice for my situation? I had a manufacturer suggest a 1/6 twist but I was skeptical on that and I don’t want over stabilization.

Two questions for the BA team Currently thinking of building a 18 inch .223 wylde and want to get the absolute most in accuracy out of it. First one is slightly controversial but is there a particular break in procedure you'd reccomend for your barrels? Would you also reccomend having the receiver trued and the barrel extension bedded to the receiver?

Remember when SNL was really corny on the early 2000s with will Farrell this reminded me of that alot maybe you guys should be talking about some thing else like tea flavors or something. I really doubt u guys do enough shooting of different 300aac bullets and brands to give any comments I have 5 different 300loads and I still don't feel comfortable making a video yet because I only shot it in 2 barrels. Like the difference of a sig mpx vs a honey badger. Or Daniel defense. The mox is a very good weapon system but accuracy it was designed for really close combat the honey badger too very similar slightly longer only 1/5twist. But years have gone by and people have experimented with different loads and tsnges and lengths and it all depends on what the mission is. If it's to breach a boat and rescue hostages sure 5inch barrel with a surpresor. If it's to actively engage bad guys in the open field ur much better off with a longer barrel or will be missing alit of your shots. The 10.5inch barrel with a flash hider is pretty accurate in that 100yards in a fire fight. If u gave me a sig mpx I say take that shit back. It's still a very short SBR however comfortably nailing targets is the key and if u said I had to use a 8.3 and I'm fighting with in 75 to 100yards I know that I'm not going to be hitting my targets as easily. Also an lvpo fits well on a 10.5nktvreally on the 8.3 that mire of an eotech size. I would actually like to see a 12.5ibch barrel. But I know that surpressors average 8inchrd so to keep it under 20 we're gonna max at 10.5but with a VMAX or a whisper 12.5 can be a medium range sniper round at 200meters. Knowing my bullet will drop about 4ibches less with a 110grain it will actually drop 3 inches which isn't bad at all. With a 12.5 barrel. 147grain drops double what 556drops. But I never got to see the speed out of a 16inch barrel or see what it can do to a gel block I like to see what each bullet can do with each barrel. I can tell u how loud several subsonics are 220grain vs 200 accuracy and going back to a her question the entire reason they stated making this round was to replace the mp5 and possibly improve the 10.3inch 556because it really doesn't do what a 556 is designed to do and that's break apart and tumble out of someone. So when they Q invented the 300round it was later improved by black hills and they made a 110 grain round that is much better then the 147 grain and this can be fired out of a 9inch barrel and have the same velo as a 556out of a 16inch barrel. But the damage it can cause breaks apart into 4 daggers and those can break into razors. 1200lbs of muzzle energy. Now u will get more velo out of the 10.3thrn the 8.3and with a trust of 1/7 will stable itself better then the 1/5but because of the shape of the shell it explodes like a handgun cartridge not like a bottle neck rifle cartridge. However I get the results of a small arms rifle carbine but better then the 762/39. So u could have made a video explaining more. And comfort to hold a 8.3u take the stock out fully and u get some sort of angled grip. To rope grip that isn't accurate not really. Even a BCM one that you can grip it better would help but there's a huge difference at the range of your trying to group shots with those ,2sizes. The bullet is twisting dozens of times more before it impacts in fairly close range. But I don't expect you guys to know that. What's next a 458 socom video with no bullet or gun.
