Hey coach, you're videos are great, man! It's got to be awesome having you in class. I mean, I've never had an English teacher as expressive and passionate about the language as you seem to be. You're also really good fun to watch which makes the whole process of learning a foreign language a much easier! Thanks so much for that!!

It good to know these types of hints in order to differentiate sounds. Otherwise, we will be saying something completely different from what we really want to convey. One of our supervisor says that pronunciation does not matter, but in the end it does.

@coachshanesesl Thanks for your compliment, Coach, though I actually believe my English isn't quite "top-notch" yet. I'm fully aware that there's still a huge gap-especially when compared to native speakers- that I've got to fill. I still lack confidence and lose command of the language at times, and that bothers me quite a bit! But as you said TIME (and lots of practice) might be the answer!

how would we know about the origin of any word if we are a non native English speaker?
@coachshanesesl3 жыл бұрын
Native English speakers usually don't know the origin of the word either!! We also need to check the dictionary!

@coachshanesesl, you got it! that means "thank you" in Portuguese. By the way, I've watched a couple of videos in which you speak some Korean intertwined with English and it seems to come so naturally to you. I just can't switch from English to Portuguese like that.. At times it kinda makes my mind go blank for a while!! I reckon 20y+ of practice might make a lot of difference, though!! ;o)

I'm sure his Vietnamese name is "Dung Nguyen" but he told you Dzung to avoid any misunderstanding, hehe. Btw, never pronounce his name "yome win", if you wanna know the reason, i will email you later:).
