J Perm in your unboxing video you said that the guanlongs are not good. Well i had got a guanlong plus or whatever it is called(the box just says guanlong cube) for b'day. At first it had lockups but after playing with it for a while it got a lot better. Magnetizing it was a good decision. And n35 4x1.5s and some heavy lube works out best for me.

I learned F2L with your video and I appreciate that you're very thrill and polite even when ppl get rude. I have learned 2LL and now finding learning full oll and pll are so hard cuz there are so many. Do you have a link to a website or doc that has the best oll and pll algs to your opinion? Thanks!

MJBCuber Improve your F2L cases. Get them all down to memory. Learning full PLL isn't necessary but it will definitely help. Slow down and lookahead. Work on Cross-F2L transition. Learning some more OLLs won't do you any bad either. However, like I said, you need to work a lot on both algorithmic F2L and your lookahead. Don't take everything I say for granted though. I've only been cubing since July so I may not be the most reliable source yet, even though I'm close to sub-15. Question: Currently trying to get sub-15 (currently sub-16) but I'm very inconsistent. Does anyone have any tips to make my times more consistent?

+GuRoux _ cubing and Tetris seem totally unrelated to me besides look ahead. my Tetris look ahead is somehow still better than my cubing look ahead, like I don't have to think at all about the next pieces. maybe because I got good at Tetris at a younger age.
@thomaspham30107 жыл бұрын
Haskolinho you deserve a medal for that comment... slow clap
@guroux7 жыл бұрын
i think it's mostlyl that tetris lookahead is easier. in tetris, you know always exactly where to look for your next pieces. how you place the pieces changes your structure minimally, and does not take as much visualization skills.

@J Perm Hi, first of all, congratulations with your great videos and all the work you put into it! The variety of topics, the many great insights you give as well as your honesty (I remember the valk power review even though you are a sponsored youtuber) made you my number one go-to option whenever I have a question. However, I still have some questions on which I can't find good answers. 1) Stickered vs stickerless cubes ? I can see on youtube that most top speedcubers still use stickered cubes in competition. However, in terms of visibility and less optimal lighting conditions (light is an incertain factor in competition) I would say that stickerless bright cubes have a better visibility, especially the side panels of the cubes which makes me have to turn my cube less to quickly check whether or not I could be mistaking (blue/white, orange/red orblue/green) compared to their black stickered variants and the stickers they normally come with. What is your opinion on this ? What is your personal optimal colour scheme ? 2) Lubes Please explain lubes and how you suggest using them ? Keep up the good work...
@JPerm6 жыл бұрын
stickerless cubes are better if you like how they look, since there is less maintenance. you can't change the color shades on them, so that can be a factor. i personally am fine with either for 3x3, but for bigger cubes i like stickerless to avoid maintenance. i don't think there's an optimal color scheme unless your eyes have trouble differentiating certain colors. extra contrast doesn't seem to affect my recognition at all, so full brights or stock shades are all fine for me. for lube i put a few drops in on any piece (like 4-6? also more drops for bigger cubes). i use martian from scs, which is the fastest lube they have, but they also have slightly slower variants (galaxy/nebula) and you should experiment to know which one you like best. a silicone based lube can also be put onto the pieces, which can slow it down a little bit or make it more controllable without much speed loss. lastly, a silicone based lube can be used in the springs to eliminate spring noise.

and question 3: could you do a video on the chronology of your "main" cubes 3x3 in the past and why you chose these as your "main" at the time please Regards
@JPerm6 жыл бұрын
unfortunately i dont own many of these anymore. if i do make a video like this, it wont be for a while though since i have tons of other stuff coming up. for now, here's a list for you: rubik's, guhong, zhanchi, panshi, mini weilong, mini aolong, gts, valk, air, gts2m, valk m, air sm. people say the panshi is bad but mine was really good for some reason.
@TonyMeersmans6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much ! As some of these cubes were custom made, could you please specify by which shop please ? (by example: there are many different Valk M's and gts2m's on the market, with many different type of magnets that they use).
@JPerm6 жыл бұрын
+Tony Meersmans I had a valk M from SCS that SCS got from Cubers Home, and another valk M was cosmic. The gts2m and gan SM are mass produced so they're all the same from any store. as for magnet strength I have no idea.
@TonyMeersmans6 жыл бұрын
Great, thank you for your time ! And what was your impression between both Valks M (Cosmis vs Cubers Home) please ? And how would you compare the magnet strength between your stock Weilong GTS 2M, Gan Air SM and these 2 Valk M's please ? Sorry for al these questions :-) I already own the Gan Air SM, Valk and Weilong GTS 1 but was actually planning to buy the Valk M and the Weilong GTS 2 M because you put these in your top 3 3X3 cubes of all time and now really want to try these ;-)
