Oh, man. I can only imagine how long it would take for someone to restore their full range of movements starting from this 3:45 position. That's a marathon right there. For the asymmetrical representation of that orientation, would you advise compressing the more open side to force expansion on the other side or just stick to medial to lateral exercises for the narrower side?

Hey Bill, regarding what you said at 8:30 about the asymetrical ISA. The side that requires more A-P expansion is the L? And the R requires more lateral expansion? Thank you as always sir

If you look at as a turn, you'll have your solution

@@BillHartmanPT I understand that the turn of the axial skeleton to the R means: R ant. compression / R post. expansion L ant. expansion / L post. compression => Early representation on the R/ Late on L. (But i guess if the R side starts going forward, the R post. is also getting compressed, so that's why the need for A-P expansion comes from? And that lateral expansion is required on the L side in order for us to shift more towards that side?) I would love for you to lay down some clarifications Bill, or at least confirm or deny my thinking. Thank you so much, for all the responses

@@thanasismakkas Person in question is wide ISA, posterior expansion right first to bring them back on right.

Hi Bill, very helpful, thank you for making all this knowledge available. Regarding your mention of oblique sits, would you consider these position viable options on the gym side of things,for example to press and pull from such position, as a way to create shape change in the thorax, or it would drives compensation because it would be (initially at least) outside of the square you showed in the beginning that represents their available range of motion? Thank you for your insight

It's usually within their available space actually to pull. Pressing is in question, however.

In sidelying, does the side which you're laying on gets expanded or the one closer to the ceiling?
@BillHartmanPT2 жыл бұрын
by position, down side.
