There is no way to "make" your locs fluffy it depends on your hair type. One thing I was told when starting locs and I feel is the truest statement "your hair is going to do what it's going to do" that's it and that's ok!

This 100% true. I just started my 2nd set of locs 3 months ago. I used to get tons of compliments on my 1st set which grew to my waist, but I hated how flat they were, and I never over twisted them. In fact I twisted them only once every few months, focusing more on separating them and wrapping stray hairs around the base. But they were just so FLAT--I wanted more of that Lauryn Hill volume. I cut them and rocked a near-baldy for a long time (which I also loved). I decided this year that I was tired of detangling my growing hair and started them again, but this time I made sure I wasn't going to use gel or heavy butters, just oils. OMG, it's literally like I have a different head of hair! You can't mimic someone else's texture but you CAN control how much you weigh down your hair. The other day someone said they wish their locs were as fluffy as mine, so SUCCESS! I can't believe what a difference the products (or lack of) that you use affects how light and voluminous your hair can be. I'm so happy :D

I'm 4 weeks in. I have what some consider "mixed hair", VERY curly/fine hair. It frizzes in humidity & curls when wet. I can see already that my locs are going to be more fluffy than tight & compact. I definitely agree that hair texture plays the biggest role in that! Love your videos :)

Yay! Another much needed video. Also, I have a Nefertiti charm too but it's sterling silver. I think it's the fullness, lusciousness and thickness of your locs is why your locs are so loved or at least that's my reason. You are the reason for me embracing the frizz and fullness of my 7 month old locs. I don't retwist as often I as I used to as well. This set is so much more fuller and thicker than my first set and I'm embracing them. Oh how do you feel about spritzing rosewater on your locs daily? I used to but it was slowing down the locing process and contributing to unraveling so I only spritz when I feel it's dry and needs a refresh
@NaturalNirvana7 жыл бұрын
Nicole Page Thank you so much beautiful! Your locs are gorgeous! 😊 I haven't tried rose water so I cannot speak on it from experience. I do however spray my hair with water when needed. I used to spray it everyday, but I don't now. I usually spritz it every other day😊.

if your locks aren't damaged I think what they're referring to is how locs look when you have a certain hair texture. my hair is very thick but not very nappy which gives me a lot of fluffiness but also gives me a lot of frizziness. I think when people have a tight coil pattern they have less Frizz...lucky them. I also agree that using less products will give you a fuller care free look that people may be referring to. on another note a lot of videos that I watch on KZbin seem to promote a more relaxed hair type of loc. it's like people want soft wavy extra neat locs...anything but nappy...lmao

@Sunnymon3y7 жыл бұрын
I absolutely adore looking at your locks every update ❤❤❤ and what I have to say about the topic is that they are probably referring to the thickness of your hair not knowing that it's only your natural hair texture because if they don't have the same hair texture then of course they won't get the same results. also the fact that your locks do look spongy and fluffy like a pillow LOL but nice seeing you again boo stay locd

What conditioner do you use? Ever since I stopped going to get retwists (I do it myself now) I haven't been getting conditioner and have just been using oil treatments. Mine looks like yours. Hehe. Kinda. I wanted to see if that was normal. I have had it in for over a year. Thank you! I do happen to use products but they are all light weight products, but that's because my hair is naturally dry. So they need help to keep that moisture. I also give my hair mostisture treatments once a month. I also retwist my locs with retwist and interlocking around every 4 weeks. So I think it all comes down to the hair type and are u doing what's healthy for your hair.
