I'm in Michigan. My husband and I are buying a winery! I'm very excited but very anxious too. I'm wanting to do a cup flower garden and maybe some plants. And I've ordered plants and trees online. Never a problem with shipping!

Thanks, Vita, for a lot of help this year with your video's getting a new gardener moving in the right direction. Looking forward to all your upcoming videos for planting start times next year, my zone is just a little south of you in 6a and your videos this year, were a huge help.

Champagne Bubbles tomatoes by MI Gardener. So pretty and small and sweet. Very low acid. People who don’t even like tomatoes love these!

Thank you for the suggestion! This looks like a very good variety. I'm seeing that a lot of MI Gardener seeds are out of stock right now. I'll have to look up this variety from another supplier but I'm sure MI Gardener's prices can't be beat. Thank you again, friend! 😊🍅

Some heirloom Italian tomatoes are always hard to find. I haven’t grown them for a couple of years but there was a specialty website that I used to order from All heirloom paste tomatoes. I also tried Genuwine which is a cross between Genovese and Brandywine. It was good but a little too sweet in sauce for my taste. I love the Sahara rudbeckia series of flowers. The ones that came up from saved seeds had so much cool diversity. All of those perennials will be super popular.

Tasmanian Chocolate tomatoes are awesome! Early harvest if started in early April . Stay short, stocky stems, excellent for pots or in ground. Beautiful color, sweet, smokey flavor. Grow them every year from seed.

When you're selling divided perennials do you have to check to make sure named varieties are not still under patent?

Black Krim . and Sun Gold. I am starting many coleus this year because it is a mix package, thinking of selling the ones I cant use at a craft fair.

I have heard great things about Sun Gold but I'll have to look into Black Krim. I'm getting super excited now about ordering my tomato seeds based on great suggestions from this video! 🥰🍅 Great idea about selling Coleus at a craft fair. Coleus are super easy to grow from seed and are a wonderful addition in the garden! 😊🌼

😊 thank you for sharing. The only suggestion is that you would include a Roma variety, alongside a medium sized variety for salads and sandwiches. I would suggest varieties that are more compact than some of the taller, spreading selections. also, I would include an individual potted, cherry tomato variety. As we all know, we only need one or two of these plants in our garden (highly productive). Garden people who are close to the Earth, often are a gentle spirit Open to the gospel. I have a garden gospel tract as a giveaway if you’re interested.

Hi, when you heel the potted plants into the ground, do you use anything in the bottom of the hole to prevent the plant from rooting into the ground? A weed fabric? Thanks
@budgetgardeningvita25 күн бұрын
Great question! No, I don't use anything to prevent plants from rooting into the ground. This Fall, I divided and potted up all (well, most lol) of my plants in hopes that by next Spring they won't be rooted into the ground like they were this year. Next year, I plan on dividing / bumping up plants during the growing season as plants sell in hopes of not only increasing my inventory but also avoiding plants from rooting into the ground. We'll see how that goes. 😊🌼

😊 it’s all good. Most people are afraid of trimming roots. With healed in plants in pots, when extracting the plant, if there’s roots sticking out of the pot bottom, just trim them off and repot the plant in the next sized pot.

Yes great tip! I've been root trimming/prunings as I pot up. Plants don't need a huge mass of roots, just enough to get by. 😊🌸

Not heirloom but for cherry tomatoes I like sweet million. As an indeterminate it produces over a long period of time.

Do you use plant tags at all? If so where do you purchase your plant tags?

Hi there. I just make hand-written plant tags. I use a Garden Marker and old cut up vinyl venetian blinds. You can usually find those blinds for free or cheap on Facebook Marketplace. 😊🌸
