I just wanted to say thank you, Caroline, for showing me personally what a strong woman can look like, and being unapologetic about it. Life is messy and hard and you don't shy from the challenge of it, or shrink away from the shit it brings. I have two sons, 4 and 2, the older being special needs. Life is hard right now as I'm navigating what it means to be the mom of a special needs child. But you've helped give me confidence that I can get my shit together and be who my kids need me to be. So thank you for always being honest about going through it, calling it as you see it, and bouncing back to your fabulous, kickass woman self. You're, like, totally awesome ❤️ Oh, and thank you for introducing me to differin and hylauronic acid 😁

Sharon Markowski my sister gave birth to two kids, two years apart, the eldest having special needs. She's now 7 (her sibling 5). It's hard, always has been on my sister but she does such an amazing job. I think you find strength within you that you never imagined possible. Don't ever feel guilty (that's something my sister always felt) but you're doing the best you can for your kids. I believe the rewards are incredible no matter what. I think a strong support network is critical to you, and try, at some point, to be "selfish" and take care of "you". My sister is now working hard at building her own business and achieving her dreams which is admirable. I think you can achieve your dreams too by being resourceful and really thinking of positive ways to make it happen. sorry my message is long but your comment resonated with me because of my sister's experience. I wish you the very best of luck. Much love.

I just love how you confidently speak about your skills and strengths. I find women, in general, aren't as comfortable promoting themselves and tend to downplay their strengths, for fear of seeming conceited. It is refreshing, and a lesson to me.

I have two children still at home, 17 y/o boy and 13 y/o girl- that velociraptor comment and accompanying face/motion at 17:39 had me crying from laughing so hard. "Years 15-19 are the parenting equivalent of Apocalypse Now"- so funny and so true. My 17 will be heading off to the US Air Force Academy (bittersweet) in a month so they will have the joy of the last two years of the Apocalypse. I can honestly say I will miss his witting, sarcastic sense of humor on a daily basis.

15-19 .....I'm going through this now with my son....That made me smile, and nice to know there is light at the end of the "very long"tunnel...x
@retrobebop617 жыл бұрын
Yes. There is a light after the tunnel! I'm now 56 and my husband is 60. Our kids are 31 and 26. Our son, the oldest , gave us a run for our money!! Talk about swearing...you should have heard our house during those years!!! Our son graduated from the best technical school, has a good job, a beautiful home, a wonderful wife (I have the best daughter in law !) , two beautiful boys and another baby in the way. He is a great husband and father ,but back during his teen years ,I never thought he would turn out so good. Our daughter didn't give us much trouble . But she was an athlete and very involved with school activities. I was so happy when she got her drivers licence! We were constantly taking her to practices etc.! She just graduated from college last Saturday! She had spent the last two summers studying abroad in China and graduated summa cum laude!! She' will be going for her Masters Degree and looking for a job. I breathe a sigh of relief and my husband and I are proud of the job we did, even though we used to think we would never survive it!! All the best to you!

Thank you for being incapable of being anything but yourself. You're the best-and because of you, over the past year, I'taken care of my skin, had effective treatments (peels, IPL, no Botox or fillers) and people keep asking what I've done. ❤️😀👍

Rarely comment on videos but had to for this one! THANK YOU for being an inspiring strong female role model and unapologetically yourself, and for sharing your wisdom with us! 💪🏻✨ Watched this at 5am this morning after a night of poor sleep & was feeling rather down... then I clicked play & this video literally turned my mood around. Particularly part about advice to 25 year old self & the part towards the end about how to get back into work after having a baby. I haven't had a baby (yet!) but I have just recently returned to the UK after 1.5 years working in humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. Have taken a bit of time out & now thinking about what to do next job wise & thinking about starting the hunt, but feeling a bit overwhelmed for various reasons incl ongoing health issues. I basically replaced 'you've had a baby! How hard can it be?!' With 'you've worked in Afghanistan, how hard can it be?!' Now feel ready to kick butt.

Thank you for being so honest, amazing, funny and REAL. I am 24, so quite a different age than you but I enjoy your blogs and vids so so much every week. I have been using DeCleor skin care since 1997 when I got back from a 3 week cruise in Australia / New Zealand and my skin was messed up like crazy!!!! Such bad condition!!! Anyway, I started going to Rosa who was passionate about skin and Decleor. I went religiously once a month till my skin went from horrendous to glorious!!! So I love Decleor and still use it and Rosa's recommendations although she's in NJ still & I now live in Alabama. Not nearly enough facials tho. One I had here used a razor blade to SHAVE my face. I nearly died.

Hi Caroline (twigletpudding from Instagram). Thanks for answering my question so honestly. You're right, the only way to manage kids and career is to have a 'village' helping you. So much of social media (if not all of it) is people showing their 'best' selves, especially when it comes to kid wrangling. Waaaaay off topic, but I LOVE your fun casual colourful clothing style. I've found 'Alternative Clothing' through you (what a gem!). It seems a lot of other's love your style too. Have you written anywhere about the places you love to shop? Adidas obvs (the pink ones were gorg!), JCrew and Alternative. Anymore we should check out? Now off to make a brew because it's one of the only things that makes playing monster trucks bearable.
