Motivational leader, goal-driven mentor, and innovator, Jake Zweig has brought the standards of excellence in training, toughness, focus, and teamwork from his former world as a Navy SEAL commando officer to college football. Zweig is poised to make an immediate impact as a leader on a university campus by enabling coaches, student-athletes, and staff to achieve the impossible. Mr. Zweig earned professional success as a naval special warfare officer and applies that same intensity and commitment to coaching his players.
Developing leaders is the key to a successful team and a primary specialty of Mr. Zweig’s. At Ohio University, he led the team and staff through a leadership program comprised of leadership skills training, problem-solving scenarios, and, of course, a rigorous team-bonding Navy SEAL workout. His leadership training has helped teams to enhance their focus, initiative, and leadership effectiveness. He has employed his leadership program at the University of New Hampshire, as well, where Coach Frank Solich and the UNH Bobcats are a testimonial to Mr. Zweig’s methods and results.
A life-long athlete and team leader, Mr. Zweig returned to college athletics following a successful career in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Zweig graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1995 as a commissioned officer. He served as a surface warfare officer for two years onboard the U.S.S. Merrimack before reporting for Navy SEAL training at Basic Underwater Demolition School. SEAL training is the most grueling and demanding physical and mental regimen in the world and Mr. Zweig not only personally excelled at the challenge but mentored the other trainees through the program and was named the SEAL class leader. Following his SEAL training, Mr. Zweig reported to SEAL Team 8 in Little Creek, VA and attained the rank of Lieutenant.

My opinion, for what it’s worth, candidates and prospects really need to listen and live advice that Jake is giving. Basically to the letter… He will definitely get you there physically, but the rest is up to you regarding mental and character true grit. Jake should have hundreds of thousands of subscribers in my opinion. I’ve been retired for over 10 years now, and even I am learning things that I should have done and should not have done back in the day.

That was the problem I had with running, I would be smoked by the end of it, and I would never see any results.

Jake, my best 500yd Combat Sidestroke is an 8:24. Even immediately after a 7.5 mile bike to the pool, I can still knock out a 9:20-9:30 500yd swim, followed by another 10min 500yd swim with around 1000yds of fin-work to finish. Then bike home. I do, and have done essentially zero freestyle. Am I screwing up? For clarification, my timeline for BUD/S is likely still a couple years away.

Yah I would say you can drop another 1 min if you focus on freestyle ... you are swimming fast enough freestyle just puts you in great shape

No your doing great ....if you swim freestyle you might swim a 7:30 ... your swimming fast enough now so it is up to you
