5:14 - 5:35 I ABSOLUTELY agree. I wish people would understand this concept of making art more. I had to struggle with 4 years of bullying myself into thinking that the art I made for myself was not good enough so I should make art that people liked instead. And lemme just say... I was not happy. It felt like I was dying on the inside just to get a few approvals from my seniors/superiors from time to time. It wasn't worth it. I only realized when I, alongside other artists, finally mustered up the courage to make art that makes us happy and that best reflects our views, instead of what the people expect us to do. This act of 'rebellion' (if you could even call it that) made me go "Huh. So this is what it's supposed to feel like. This is what not hating yourself or your art feels like. It feels nice! I should do it more often." And so, from then on I learnt to make art that makes me happy. Cause like you said, even though some people (or most people) won't like it, at least at the end of the day it's art YOU made, for yourself, and it feels like creation that came from YOU instead of a cheesy fabrication of what someone wants you to be. Anyways, that's just my two cents. Thanks again for another well thought out video, Tessa! :)

I really enjoy your vlogs and videos, they are so calming, plus in almost every video you say something that I find inspirational, I write it down on a sticky note and stick it to my bedroom wall where many many quotes, pictures and memories find their place. "[...] 'cause even if noone else likes it at least you've done something thats been beneficial for you." - that helps me seeing the conflict you adressed just before saying that, and with which I struggle daily aswell, with more consciousness. My art is creating clothes and fashion and the thought of "not being enough" or "my work/creation not being relevant to others" sometimes gets me doubting if I am succeeding with living the life I chose to live. I absolutely love my work and I don't do it to dress others in the first place to be honest, but to channel off my creative chaos in my head to something I really love doing. So it is beneficial for me, even if noone else likes it - thanks for reminding :) ♥

I don't know if this is too much honesty (lol?) but I've certainly enjoyed your vlogs more recently - by recently, meaning in the last year or so. I've known about your channel for ages (circa 2008/9 days) but I never subscribed. I don't remember why, I just recall there not being that ~spark~ or whatever to make me want to engage. But! Like maybe two-ish years ago I finally subscribed and was bewildered at why I had somehow ever previously found your channel off-putting. Sometimes a person just needs to take a break and step away from something they love so they can recharge their batteries and come back strong. I've been there. People can tell when you're forcing yourself to create and be productive. And it's usually not good for anyone. Better to do it when you're feeling it.
