Haha thanks for answering my question. I’m in 10th grade and I’m 14. In India we have board exams for 10th and 12th grade which puts a lot of pressure on everyone. And everyone is obsessed with your marks, even if they’re complete strangers. My mom’s dentist told me to study. I’m just gonna tell my parents to make me practice violin every day. That’s what my grandmother did for me with singing and I’ve been singing for 10 years now!

Clicked on your first video because I'm plotting to learn the violin at 20 after wanting to learn since I was younger, your first video popped in my recommended feed and I'm on a violin obsession so I figured why not watch, seems like I made a good choice

Such a good video! I love your perspective on the violin as a means to discipline rather than a hobby! I totally agree. I definitely try to help my students and parents understand this. Hobbies are easy to quit. Quiting on the discipline of practice will most definitely lead to misery, especially in those formative years. I love that you said helping students achieve their goals rather than a ridged 1 size fits all for every student. Knowing your student and their family hopes in their musical growth is so important to making the discipline an enjoyable experience. Such great content! Here's hoping for 10k followers even faster than 5k! Also, congrats to you and your wife on baby! They are the best! My 2 older kids are 6 and 3 and they both wanted to learn violin just from watching me, so I'm sure your boy will feel the same!

I happen to started to learn the Violine in February this year. I love it. And I sometimes dislike it. I never had to work so hard for so little result. ( I learned to play accordeon as kid and progressed really fast) but I still love it ( I am 38 now). Never to old to do what you love. And today I treated myself with a new Violine.. Not an Violine shaped object. So beautiful..

@@MishaSkripach for most people even if they start at 4 yeara they will never be a Hillary Hahn, or a jusein bolt. So never even start? Cause chances are low you will be famous? Or the best in what you are doing? . The world is full of humans who do something with passion and enjoy it. That might be enough. You might think it is a waste of time, what is fair enough, for me it makes my time more meaningful.

Ayeee love the cellos 💖 I'm no musician myself (I'm an ice skater) but ever since I started on a story I want to publish ever since I was in high school (which the story is centered around music and the main character is a cellist), I have had a long time appreciation for musicianship and what ya'll go through. Also accordions deserve love too 💖
