I taught middle school for 8 years and switched to elementary 2 years ago. I always saw myself teaching MS and never could have imagined enjoying elementary…but I absolutely love it! It’s crazy how we think we are meant to teach a certain age group but at the end of the day, students are students no matter their age!

While I was in my education program I said I only wanted to teach high school but then I student taught in a combined middle/high school and had 6th, 8th, and 10th graders and absolutely fell in love with teaching middle school. Now I’m starting my first teaching job teaching 7/8 grade ELA in august and I’m SO excited. I won’t say I’ll never teach high school but I can see myself sticking with middle school for a long time!

I LOVE hearing you talk about teaching! I finished my teaching degree in 2018, but I wasn't sure I was going to stick with it until this past year. I got my first full year job, it was teaching grades 6-8, and it was an absolute roller coaster but it really renewed my love for teaching. I've got a contract lined up for next year already, teaching 6-8 math, tech, and science, and I'm so excited! Other than our subjects being different, I can relate to you so much, and it's so inspiring for me to watch your videos. Thank you! ❤️

I’m moving from 3rd/4th grade (special ed~learning disabilities classroom) to 7th grade math (also an LD classroom)!! I didn’t ask to move and I have NEVER wanted to teach middle school!! However, I’m super excited about it, and I think it’s the change I need right now. Crazy how life works, isn’t it?? I was really into learning about the Holocaust, and reading Anne frank in middle school is what sparked my interest in that time period. I don’t like saying that I loved learning about the Holocaust bc that sounds so wrong, but you know what I mean!! I’ll be special Ed again in 7th, and I will have all my kids I’ve had over the past three years, so I can’t wait! 💜💜

Ms. Brittany, It is lovely to see that you are enjoying the process of teaching middle school. I love that the students in the middle school you teach in take a quarter class, Writing Workshop specifically for writing as part of their English course. I would much rather be a creative writing teacher than an English teacher because I am an author and I am meant to actuate a new generation of writers that will invent stories that the world certainly needs. Thanks for your video! I might be getting psoriasis on my arm as a side effect from the cancer immunotherapy but that’s ok because the psoriasis is cosmetic and getting rid of the cancer is more important. So far I am grateful I have had success praise God I hope the success continues. Thanks for your videos and for being here on KZbin!

I literally just took my Praxis Core on Monday (haven't looked at scores, waiting on writing lol) and this semester I will be taking my 2 licensing test and in the spring I start student teaching. I don't know if I'm excited, overwhelmed or both 😂😂 (btw my college during senior year does a 3rd observation followed by student teaching, all in the same class and grade level)

@@fivefootoneteacher i'm teaching grade 9. We have a different educational system though from yours. So i'm not so sure if we have the same "lessons". In here, writing, reading/literature, grammar is taught in every grade level as one subject - English.
