Several months ago, your shorts started appearing in my feed. I saw a pretty redhead speaking Spanish, so I had to click on it. You and my daughter are very similar. She is a pale redhead that speaks Spanish. However, she has no Latin blood and is a natural redhead. She has been married to a Mexican man for the last 10 years. She learned Spanish through immersion. I'm trying to learn Spanish so I can speak to my granddaughter in both languages. The shorts are fun, but I really like your videos. As a long time F1 fan, I liked that one a lot. It will be hard to top your mom's birthday though.

No pongas tantos chiles.

I enjoyed the video! And mami... try cutting off the ends of the onions completely next time. You should be able to peel with one swift motion, especially if you remove the outer layer. Otherwise, the only thing I think I would try is using a nice big sprig of fresh cilantro. Everything else looks delicious!

Not sure if you will ever see this, but as a white guy working in a mexican restaurant I found that the tastiest way to make quick salsa was to boil the onions and tomas while grilling the chillies with some garlic and chorizo that you blend with the boiled to give it a kick and taste that is almost 10 times better than the spicey after punch and its even better if you use quesadillas or top on a torta. Just been my favorite to make when I really wanna have the rest of the day munching some tasty salsa.

Nice to see a Finn on here. My Mexican mom married a Finnish American. My great grandfather moved to the US from Finland. I am a Mexifin. If you go by Hispanic name convention, my last name is Pellinen Chavez. Would Suomeksikolainen be a good transition of Mexifin? It's too bad that my dad lost most of the Finnish he spoke as a kid. I am fluent in English and Spanish, but only know a few words i. Finnish.

So in other words totopos. Which she should know about already from her mom. We don't call them "chips" in México, and this is exactly how we make them. The American restaurant stuff that comes in a bag are not true totopos.

FYI the number of pepper is way to many for most Mexicans. 3 to 5 is what most people use. I have an Uncle who makes his salsa with that many pepper. No one will touch it. I add a habanero to my salsa with whatever peppers I use. Roasting or boiling is a matter of taste and what you want to from your salsa. For people starting out do boiling for the easiest way. I not the expert but I have been given lesson from family who work in Mexican Restaurants my brother who was an Executive Chef and of coarse my Grand mother and mother.

I grew up in Vegas so all the Spanish I ever heard used was Mexican/Chicano. I was kinda fluent, but as long as you didn't talk too fast and there weren't too many words I didn't know, I could get by. When I moved to Florida for a little bit, it was like I had no idea what anybody was saying. The Cubans, the Dominicans, the Puerto Ricans, all of them had different accents and I was lost. And then you hear someone speaking a Creole language and you'll catch the occasional Spanish word and the occasional French word but the rest is unintelligible. Oh, and the trick to peeling and onion fast, is to cut it first. Cut the top off and cut it in half right through the root. Skin comes off quick. Then you can dice it or slice it or however you're gonna do it.
