Q&A: Why World of Warcraft became boring?!

To everyone. Umm this was a question asked by one of my followers. I will be playing legion and enjoying the sh1t out of as much as my brain can handle. Working on Affi lock video right now myself. But guys you gotta admit that games with less complexity tend to be more boring...

I don't know if I agree with the part that less buttons equals less complexity, Frost dks while not having that much buttons to press, had some density on rune and power management.. Arcane mages during pandaria had very few buttons but an intense mana workout to balance.. I don't need 10 buttons, I need the game to require some thinking and not dumb mind-numbing face rolling on the keyboard

I wish they made gear an importance again. I remember back in season 8 only 4-5 people on my server had the ability to get the current pvp gear. Every time I saw one if those people it was so cool to see somebody better than me and actually gave me a reason to get better.

Yes, one of the best things for me was the WoW community. It was just fun knowing all the high elo players and being in competition with them.

Talents in WoTLK and Cataclysm were indeed more interesting and complex but definitely weren't balanced. Ppl had to make something like universal spec that leaves them in a disadvantage vs some comps, unlike current wow where you can change some of the talents and increase your chances. What I hoped to see the most was the "talents" of the legendary weapon ... that proved to be perks not talents.

i missed those talents too, but i realised people just copied other peple's talents. every single class had the same talents. now you can at least changing on before fights

you know what, your TOTALLY right, i dont feel like i need to play to be good anymore, i was top DPS DK from naxxramas to dragon soul, then when pandaria kickd in i felt like i didnt need to try hard anymore, and its exactly what i could not explain that u did here, it was soo dumbed, that training, and putting effort was fruitless, and sorry if i sould elitist, but something easy is not rewarding AT ALL to be good at ... THO, i still like the game, just i used to wanna play 24h, or sorts.. now.. a couple hours a week

ReinhartDaRussian, i agree with you. When raid finder launched something has died in my passion to wow. It was a beginning sign to the casual direction they were going for... I still like wow but it coudl be better... I play since vanilla. On and off. Nice to know you are making affliction video. More warlock=better afaic.

Skyforge, SWTOR, Age of Conan all casual. Skyforge is bring new concenpt of no pay to win and complexity is pretty awesome! I will play legion but most likely will be making other videos as well

New players have that small brain DOTA/MOBA mentality. If you want subscribers you give them what they can handle. But an old game having such combat mechanics doesn't make the game more approachable with such changes. It makes it fast to get bored or reach a relative low class skill sealing. They can't risk giving players a vanilla style - here's everything - type of game ,because if you underachieve you have an abysmal amount of other MMOs to pick from. It's the famous WOW survival of the fittest mentality that makes the game being relevant for so long , and it's the player market that is changing. I am confident the Dev teams don't rly want a washed down 3 button game.

Reinhart try TESO bro it's really good PVP and PVE it has that vanilla feeling were you need to dedicate time to reach level of old players, you cant just hop in and be as strong as the old players like in wow.

So you told your audience that a brand new game confuses you? and that you felt the same way during the release of wrath? Which is when you started playing. But now that you suck at the new game, you feel that it's the developers fault. The freedom to design your characters abilities around your play style no longer exists in wow, but it's complexities are still visible.

Why? Becuz', you've played it since Vanilla dude! The game didn't become boring, you became bored of 'it'. xD Normally I agree with you Rein, but this doesn't belong - it's you, not the game! This is YOUR personal opinion towards the game, which you are trying to make an overall, general opinion - let's make an example: You eat your favorite dish everyday for the next many years, and ofc this makes you tired of the dish, but .. this doesn't mean the dish is "boring", becuz' others may be new to it, or still like it and find it delicious. The people who makes the dish tries to "spice" it up for you, but this only feels like a bandage solution, for you, becuz' the dish already "bored" yeah, you, so nothing can save it, for YOU! :) Anyway. Enough of that, what I'm trying to say is, I don't think it's boring, it's different, but still "delicious". ;) And I gotta say, WoW currently (also Legion), is in my opinion better than Vanilla, BC and even WotLK (WotLK, which was my favorite). I disagree. look at counter strike there are ppl who played the game from the very beginning a they still enjoy it now and that game as older than wow. same thing with games like chess or football there people who play those game their entire live and yet they still enjoy them

Well he is not wrong, the game has become simpler, you cannot deny that. They have simplified the game to the point where skillful plays are not even a thing anymore just so they can cater to the casual masses. You are a lot less likely to screw up with a 2 button rotation than with what we used to have back then, and lets not talk about how they fucked tanking all together. I have also been playing since vanilla, and I still play private servers that are TBC and WOTLK, but I cannot bring myself to try WoD again because it has lost its appeal by being simple, not old. And honestly the level of games that has been coming out is quite appalling considering the money companies make out of selling em.
