Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

For me the medical drama was so enlighting! I have Fibromyalgia and being able to relate to someone on a "sickness" level was so comforting. Also, because of Mary sharing so much I was able to learn about struggles some of my friends were dealing with too. I raised an asthmatic son and medical equipment was always around. He was also on injectable meds too and I don't know what happens in our minds as humans, but medical supplies and all their clicking and crinkly papers is just kinda cool. Also, as much as I wished my son's life were easier, there is just so much learning going on about our amazing bodies and how science can help. It really gets cool. I can't count the times I've lost myself in the beauty and miracle and simpleness of the science that has kept my kid breathing. I would get geeked and my kid would say, "really mom?" That's the impression I got when Mary said medical drama. It does sound funny to say it, but it's kinda cool 🤷‍♀️

I think it's a bit too simplistic to say there's less or more views because of health "drama". I think its more about what viewers relate to, and their needs in their life at that time. Selfish as it is, it's what it is.

I do miss your daily vlogs but I'm glad to see this part of your life journey. I came to your channel because I'm also a chronically ill person (not CF) and watching Mary's journey has helped me through the hard times and the good times. When I go into medical procedures I often find myself saying, if Mary can do it, I can too and try to remember that every breath is a gift even when life sucks and my body seems to hate me. I have to say that as much as I love and adore you guys and your little one, I am glad that you don't have the time to vlog every day. To me you guys not having time to means things are going much better than it used to be. Just had to say I was at Lowes picking up paint today and the cashiers were having a discussion about new ‘dress code’ rules for Lowes being discussed. One of them pointed to my “Hope Changes Everything” t-shirt and said “what about her shirt? I think that is a great shirt!” So, of course, I told them the Frey story and they just lit up! So if you are ever in Lowes in a small town in Tennessee and all are the workers are wearing your shirt (under the red Lowes vest😊), I started that trend!!😁😂 Love you guys!❤️

Even if there is a chance, that isn’t the goal. Foster care should always prioritize reunification unless it is no longer possible.

I am thinking from what was said about medical equipment, that sweetie's mother is still coming to terms with having a medically demanding baby. It's also possible mom had serious medical issues prior too or maybe following her baby's birth. We will never know. We need to sit back and allow Peter and Mary their privacy that's being required by law now. I am hoping that the Frey Life will continue. Since they were able to share their son Elijah with us, I am hoping we will be permitted to seeing him grow up also. Only time will tell us.

I cannonly speak for my experience of watching your vlogs. Yes, I used to watch almost every video, back when Mary was sick, but it wasn't for the "drama". I've had a life long struggle wirh serious depression, and I really related (in a round about way) the huge impact health issues have on your life. Your vlogs helped me DSO MUCH when I was in a really dark place. I got so much out of seeing you both rise about the uncertainty, the reality of living wirh chronic illness. My checking in less often is a combination of both Mary's health, and my own, improving. 🥰

I don't think they will since this a new chapter of the freylife series In the course of nine years going on year 10 on AUGUST 24th of this year. From their beginning in Edinburgh to Massachusetts and Mary's frequent Hospital stays to taking trikafta miracle treatment 3 1/2 years ago that Bought a huge turnaround in her overall health and residing in DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA and not needing futher transplants . in late 2021 Adopting a new son of Elijah which evaluated a whole new mood to the Series and now in the month of JUNE 2023 welcoming a new foster child And baby 2 to the family bringing the number to 6 including oliver and harry.. The two pets..

Hi Peter and Mary! I started watching your channel in 2018, but I picked it up back again earlier this year. I've had treatment resistant depression for 11 years, but the last year has been particularly grueling. I am a medical nerd lol, but I love all your videos. Your older videos have taught me a lot about cystic fibrosis, feeding tubes, etc. and have given me someone to relate to. A lot of the days I can barely get off the couch, and you give me ideas to stay positive and make me laugh. Your newer videos have given me so much HOPE! You've taught me about adoption, given me new songs or recipes to try, and inspired me that maybe I can be a mom one day too. Love you guys, and I'm happy to be here for wherever life takes you. It maps out different parts in your life together Through Mary's health to travelling to study in Edinburgh. The new life trikafta has given you. I like the medical drama because my own life is full of medical drama, too! When I’m in the hospital, I go back and watch your old vlogs, and it makes me feel less alone. There is so many things I miss. I started watching the channel because of Oliver the service dog! I also really find medical things interesting. Then years later Ollie had to retire and then Trikafta came along the break through CF medication that almost cured Mary of her coughing. Then normal everyday vlogs came along, cooking vlogs, shopping vlogs and a few medical vlogs mixed in. Then the exciting news of adopting a baby came along. Baby came home and no more daily vlogs. My heart was sad, I looked forward to those new daily vlogs every day a lunch or when I got home from work! Delayed vlogs has also been hard. I understand why you have changed things but I still miss seeing Ollie more and those everyday current vlogs! Are you ever going to go back to current time vlogs?

Mary, I'm chronically ill and I when I first started watching your videos, you were living in your friends' basement at the time, and obviously money was tight. Your outings and activities, when they happened, were very simply. It was the first time I saw someone living in real time a life like mine. (Although I came to realize that you were a lot more sick then I was.) I watched you navigate things like phramacy and doctor drama and appreciated your experience and grace. I'm a believer as well and also appreciated yours and Peter's perspective on suffering when you were in the deep depths of it. But I am a medical nerd too. Maybe a little bit here for the drama, sometimes. I'm glad its more typically little "d" drama now versus big "D" drama.

This was another "gender reveal" for me. I didn't know if Sweetie was a girl or a boy and tonight I found out he's a little boy. I know that much of the daily care will be off camera but you might know that your Frey Life Family - not in it for the medical drama - is curious about how Eli has reacted to Sweetie and how you are managing to keep up your energy with two tots. It's wonderful that you are pastoring again, Peter, and that your dream since you were teenagers working with children is coming true now with two little boys who are SO LUCKY to have you as parents. I haven’t written a comment for ages! But I think that if you guys write a book then you absolutely have the ability to do that, SHOULD you write a blog? Maybe God says yes or no but maybe more life experience will give an even richer content to the book. And then with vlogging I think that vlogging is changing a lot anyway (for many former daily or regular vloggers) but also I wonder if you had times of yes and no but only because maybe there would be seasons of time where you WANT to share something and maybe those times of life you wouldn’t want to which would be okay too! I think though that while you’ve been a large encouragement to people a lot but you are human beings and not meant to be entertainment to the whims of viewers (not saying that this is what you’ve done but I think some people do that even unconsciously). Even if you guys said this would be your last vlog, I would still pray for you all, I’d still hope for the blessings of life that not everyone sees and more passions you get to enjoy…then I also would go back to old vlogs in part for my own memory of what *I* was doing when you filmed this or that! Lol! God bless in all things and see you soon which is in the past or future, I need to go enjoy the Back the Future trilogy! 😂 ❤

I think daily vlogging of episodes will eventually burn you out in everyday Stress especially now with soon 2 kids in the house .. And for most of us Don't really have the time to watch KZbin everyday because of full-time jobs that takes us away from media screen times and away from home.. For me I don't really watch KZbin on a 7 day basis some weeks because of everyday tasks that takes you away from screens during the summer months.. I think the 3 episodes a week format works Fine with me .. Happy fathers day from yesterday family today is JUNENINETEEN DAY on the calendar.. ❤❤😊

Just kinda fell in love with this cute young couple who put God first in their lives. Never knew anyone with CF and I’m in my 60’s, so I learned lots and got to pray for you. Then your new meds that stopped your coughing, then sweet Elijah and now foster parenting. Wow, love your story. 2:21 - 2:35 Mary's face. 😂Like, "Peter, are you okay?" 😂I was thinking "Peter's super tired." I would say it was more "health trouble" rather than "health drama." Except for the moments like when you first moved to North Carolina, and the insurance was having trouble being transferred from Massachusetts, with SO many phone calls and this and that. THEN it was "health drama."
