In western Muay Thai, beneil is a black armband under Rafael Cordero. Do Bronx also received his black armbands. The armband ranking is to appeal to those who have no aspirations to fight but want their progress to count for something. For Russian like petr yan, Islam, khabib, their ranking in sambo and wrestling is master of sport (black belt equivalent). For wrestlers, they are white belts in gi, but in no gi they roll like a black belt, their equivalent is either Olympic gold medalist, all American, all state is considered as a black belt in their league. If boxing had black belts, they would be golden gloves. At the end of the day the belt makes sure your pants stay on your waist at all times. If you want the real definition of a black belt, it’s a white belt who pushed through the hardest of trainings.
