What an artist, plain, down to earth but worldly, intellect and well bred, obviously great parents! A man for the ages, I have been to Greece for my honeymoon plus Turkey, amazing countries, loved them both, what a trip! Loved the markets and the beauty of both. I have also seen him in Canada, amazing! To be fair, all the band is awesome, as he is backed by his band.

Awesome Q and A! I've seen Yanni in concert four times (and counting). Having seen him live, I know the amazing man he is. He has faith in humanity, as do I, regardless of what's going on in the world. We need to find inner peace, then perhaps we can achieve world peace. Yanni's music touches the soul no matter what your ethnicity. If we can let our souls reach others as his music and message does, the world will be a happy place.

the best compliment i know of is not some technical break-down of the music, nor is it how any one or even group of people feel on a personal level about it. rather, the highest compliment i can think of, ever... is that YOU sir, with your music, inspire people. what you inspire them to doesn't matter in comparison that That you do so.

I've enjoyed watching this Yanni. I've been listening to your music since (I think) about 1989. I was walking through a shopping mall in Fort Lauderdale with a friend who played violin. We dropped into a music store and were "pawing through" the CDs there, but there were booths in the back where you could listen to parts of them. All of a sudden, my friend yelled "Susan! Come here!" From that point, the beginning, you have been a fabulous pillow to land on in any circumstance and I'm 73 now. Have been to every concert you have had here and was thoroughly enchanted. Can't tell you how happy I am that the whole world has been able to witness your honest humanity and all of the different parts (even the depression, which we've all had and you help us to cry and then climb out) of you that are helping the world spin. I remember that spell in your life and was so thankful to see you return to us. I'm aware of the "creativity sensitivity" as I've used it in my own life and respect yours enough to stay away and let you be Yanni. We so need you right now. Every single one of us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being exactly what you were created to be.

Yanni, the first time I ever bought one of your albums was in Monterey, CA, in 1992. I was 19 at the time and looking for something instrumental in the New Age section (at that time this is how they were classifying your music), but I knew it from the moment I first heard it that it refused to be compartmentalized into a single category. I had never heard a single tune of yours up until that point in time. Admittedly, not knowing who you were (whether a group or solo artist) I bought your album Keys To Imagination because of the artwork on the cover, thinking this was going to be good... I couldn't explain why, but I knew it was something different. Up until that point in time, the only New Age artist I can really say I was familiar with was Kitaro. Keys To Imagination blew me away... I listened to it over and over and over. You may not remember this, but when you came to Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ, in 1993, you were in the middle of your concert and asked the audience if they had any requests-- "I shouted from the top of my lungs, "Port of Mystery." You graciously had a giggle; I don't know if was due to the request you heard or just the fact that you heard so many voices coming from the audience in the self-same moment as I shouted my request-- anyway, you giggled, and went on to perform the song you had planned for the evening lineup. That same night, when you played 'Until the Last Moment' I was literally on the edge of my seat, partly because I was looking over the balcony down to the stage to watch you play, but also because I was moved to tears by it. It touched me and impacted me so deeply it felt like I was suddenly in tune with every reason you had for writing that song-- your music is powerful and I think that God used your wonderful parents to impart a wonderful gift to you, not only of music, but your love for humanity! Thank you for so many years of giving your audiences so much joy to hear what you've composed so beautifully words are not adequate to express how much so! I've been a fan since that first album I bought, been to three concerts since and will continue to be an admirer of your work! Thank you for pouring your true heart into your music to the extent that many have been comforted, consoled, and even healed by it!!! Sincerely, Andy Gallego
@algallego
@algallego 9 жыл бұрын
One final thing I'd like to request from you, will you ever peform an arrangement of Port Of Mystery or Quiet Man in your concerts-- they are two of my many favorites of your music? I'd love to hear those live!!!! I've done the best with what I had time-wise equipment-wise, and resource-wise to make a plausible cover rendition of Quiet Man, but I can not quite get any sounds to match your awesome bozoki sampling, timing, and quite frankly awesome musicianship that you have on your keyboards or Charlie's phenomenal drumming-- something I would love to be able to do-- I transcribed the parts I heard in an old software program called Music Time a long time ago and posted the MIDI file online! My time dedicated to music production is at a minimum because I'm not so good that I should give more time to it-- I wish it was otherwise, but without even an extremely minute modicum of your talent, it is not possible for me to do what you do! God has truly given you a blessing that I can see from your Acropolis concert gave your mother great joy as I saw it on her face in the audience! May you continue to flourish and touch many more lives with each new generation of music lovers who encounter your music!

Because most people who live or will live on the earth are going to die without hearing your songs, sometimes I am afraid that you don’t believe me when I say I love your music. I am afraid that you think that I listened to your record once and it maybe made my skin feel a bit nice. That I want to think of myself as the kind of person who would say they love your music. it is my duty to enjoy at least some of the music that comes my way, and it might as well be yours.

When you try to think when making music nothing gets done, I've experienced that myself. Whenever i sit down by the piano thinking to myself ''now im gonna make a song'' absolutely nothing comes to mind, i just can't do it. But when i play the piano and don't think about anything, i have feelings about life situations,Memories and maybe movie scenes and how that would make me feel.
