My brother is 22 months younger than me. They had him tested because he didn't talk. The diagnosis was me - the older sister. I spoke for him so he didn't need to. When he did, he was talking in full sentences. It is 38 years later and I still try to take care of him. Big sisters be like that.

My family was like that too! I had a brother 2 years 18 days younger than me, and I was told he wouldn't talk so they put him into speech but then I would always tell everyone what he wanted so he wouldn't speak (I wish there was a video but glad they told me the story)

Well in case you are interested, regarding the bank accounts, we both work (very similar salaries) and have separate accounts but also a joined one where we both put the same amount each month. With this account we pay most things: rent, bills, car, groceries, eating out, clean lady, home repairs & appliances... We use the personal one for gifts (to each other but also I pay for my family's gifts, he pays for his. This way I don't feel bad if I want to spend more on my niece than what he would like for his, for example). Also if i go on a girls trip, or want to buy something for myself (clothes, hairdresser, a new phone) I pay that from my account. This felt the good for both of us, so we don't feel bad for spending money on things that are not necessities.

P.p.s. We have separate accts. We were a little older when we coupled up and had separate accounts and houses already. It was easier to keep it separate. I wouldn’t care if it was joint at this point. But the nice part is we can surprise each other with a purchase and also not micro manage on little expenses that we might differ on. It works for us. I see both sides & it’s great if two ppl can agree on whichever way and finances aren’t a typical problem.

You can have ferns and birds nesting inside, and still water your ferns. Spray gently on the inside of the basket. Do it everyday, if your plants need watering. The birds will be fine, the mother will be fine. Remember, nests in trees and bushes get rained on. So take care of your ferns, mama bird will take care of her babies. My husband and I have separate bank accounts. It works for us. We each pay our certain bills and if one has a bill that they need help with, we pay it. We both pay at various meals out but don’t eat out a lot of buy coffee out. You’re so right, it’s so expensive. We live a simple life with very little debt. Mortgage, utilities, groceries, and medical bills are our only debts. It’s tough for young people. We’ve paid our vehicles off and he fixes our cars so we will never have another car payment.

I have 3 grown children. 2 girls and my son is the youngest. We had concerns with him and it was my mother who said The girls talk for him! We had to redirect them and MAKE him answer for himself and he grew out of that. So many Christians today are no longer attending church. Church attendance and church community is so important and Biblical. Hebrews 10:24, 25 to name just one. My son has Aproxia of speech it's a slow response from brain to tongue. He was & is highly intelligent even back years ago !! But that can affect motor skills for them as well like they can be clumsy & affect depth perception. But my son worked so hard in his early years and did speech till the end of 3rd grade. Now he's going into senior year of HS honor roll Ap classes and still will struggle with speaking loud enough and a couple sounds hear & there but he's perfect ! But it was a struggle !! Getting them to talk is most important like do you want juice or milk getting them to speak as much as possible which his sister & I knew everything he was saying and needed so it was easy for him not to say much ! But they're both so precious & such a blessing to you all !!!

My boys were always delayed in speech. They eventually talked but it did take a few years. By 3 they were talking a lot but mastered it by 5. One still has speech lessons but my oldest boy stopped speech when he was in 4th grade. So don't worry too much. He will get it!

I got married very young so right away we shared checking/savings account. When I went back to school and got my degree and started working at a hospital some of my co-workers who started getting married in their late 20’s early 30’s had their own money and what they would do is have a joint account and they would both put in a certain amount of money to cover the bills but otherwise kept their money separate. Also, we adopted my son at age 2 and he could only say about 5 words. By the time he was 3 the social worker had us put him in pre-school as well as a speech therapist coming to our house. But, like you said when the Pediatrician shares concern I have no doubt you’ll do what’s best for Zade!

My husband and I had our 30th wedding anniversary in April! We have never been in an argument or a fight! I don't think it's right to yell or scream at him... why would I treat him that way? He is my partner, my better half! We may not agree about everything, but we work it out without ever fighting with each other! I love my husband too much to yell at him! I haven't always been this way, but when my husband and I first started dating, we didn't it set rules or anything... we just treated each other with respect. Now, after 30 years of marriage, I can be proud of our relationship and have no regrets about how we communicate with each other! Love you guys!

Zade is going to be just fine! My nephew didn’t speak A WORD until he turned 4, every child is different. 😊 We had a mamma bird build a nest on our front porch. She had 4 itty bitty birds. We would check them daily & yesterday when I went to check on them momma & all 4 birds flew off. I know it was time, but I’m sure going to miss them. We follow my parents model and have shared checking/savings but also each have a personal checking account. We both work so our paychecks go to our personal and then we keep a small amount in checking for “fun” eating out etc and then transfer the rest to the joint account for budgeting. It’s a win for us because you can still build your savings goals together and do the household budget together but if my husband wants to eat out and I have a girls dinner planned our fun money is our own so we don’t have to worry about who is spending what in that way 💁🏽‍♀️

You mentioned about Zade not talking a ton and that makes sense as him being the second kid and Layla such a talkative cutie could be “taking the words out of his mouth”. Just make sure that she’s not interrupting him because it can cause him to have stuttering problems. I know this from experience because I’m the oldest and the second in the family is my brother and I was very talkative and would talk for him and it would cause him to stutter as he got older. To the new believer.. Get a study Bible and find a church that teaches the Word with practical wisdom on how to apply it to everyday life. Start in the gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and find someone you can ask questions with (small group, mentor, friend) A lot of churches offer classes to the new believer..
