You overestimating Janhoy 44 years is alot of time to be in power with so little change

@@32yearsago85 Certainly, you can throw criticism at the rate of progress, but if you believe that it was only because of him that progress was slowed, then you are very much mislead. There were many within the realm that detested the changes they saw in Ethiopian society. "Progress" to these conservatives was viewed as the erosion of traditional and cultural values. Having to contend with traditionalists/ conservatives as well as a citizenry that was hungry for "progress" is a challenge - to say the least. 44 years is "a lot" and during his tenure he: established strong diplomatic relationships with powerful countries, set a solid foundation for various developmental projects, and spear-headed the establishment of robust institutions that would have carried Ethiopia to prosperity (much like Japan). Rather than suffer the indignity that other African nations faced (your resources exploited for pennies), his majesty had far too great a respect for his mother land and its patriotic people. I overestimated nothing; I see the value, honor, and respect he brought to your nation and people on the international stage. I can't say this reputation is intact now.

This short video gives a glimpse of history particularly to those who from time to time try to belittle H.I.M.’s earned respectability in a world stage. As one of the founders of this organization, he challenged the body for not living up to its original creed, His message was directed in addressing the plight of some of the African nations which at that time were still under colonial rule. So, when you’ve such a political clout, it’s inevitable to be an influential powerhouse. Could anyone envision a scenario where any of our recent so-called leaders could have this kind of influence? I doubt it. Of course I am being sarcastic in asking this question.😂😂
