A baby boy is rushed to the hospital with multiple broken bones. Pediatricians say it's child abuse, but his mother insists they are wrong. State law says she was entitled to a second opinion, but state officials took custody of her baby without one: "I missed all the milestones."

They'll take kids away from loving parents in a heartbeat, but yet ignore calls and an actual child's testimony and keep them in an abusive home until they're beat or starved to death. This is absolutely insane.

Sadly our friends moved into a new house with their baby twins and 2 yr old daughter and our friend was holding his one baby twin daughter and walking down these twisted stairs and the baby stuck her leg out and it got caught in between the railing and was broken so they went to the ER and since babies can't talk the usually takes babies fast and the ER Called the cops saying they didn't believe them so they took both twins...yet left their other daughter it don't make sense.. but their God parents got custody and they have been fighting it for 2 years and did everything... classes and supervision... Trials and everything... They never had any priors or anything and yet over an accident they will never get their kids Back as the judge decided they will let the God parents adopt them. I'm glad they got to be with their God parents and they let them see their kids alot and all but it's sad..

@@paigeyelton6608 What’s in it for the judges? They must get incentive. As a nurse, I was able to help a family avoid this situation when they brought their baby into the hospital with unexplained fractures and I was the administrative supervisor on duty. The police and DFACS were called but my gut told me it was something different. The baby was sent to Atlanta and it was osteogenesis imperfecta. Praise God I was on duty that day to intervene on behalf of those parents.

The worst feeling in the world is to be wrongly accused of abusing your own child when you know you haven’t done anything wrong. This mother and son lost a year of bonding and milestones because of a wrong diagnosis and accusations. So sad. The baby won’t remember this but the mother is permanently scarred and traumatized. These physicians need to be held accountable for not properly reviewing medical reports and jumping to conclusions that negatively caused irreparable harm.

it's another reason i hate doctors as well. the hospital called cps on me because i didn't have any prenatal care in my pregnancy and just went to the hospital for the delivery. they were very visibly upset by this, kept telling me about how the only time they see this kind of thing is with mothers with something to hide and they drug tested me.... TWICE. (im assuming the first test didnt give them the results they were hoping for). any questions i made about vaccinations or testings were met with annoyance, one nurse even trying to bully me into getting my son circumcised. it was insanity. the cps worker even told me "im not really sure why they called me here, you haven't done anything illegal, you're not legally obligated to seek out prenatal care, i guess all i can do is make sure you know that you have resources for things like transportation if you need them to get to doctors appointments" and then i was discharged with the condition that if i don't attend my sons first checkup scheduled one week from that day that i would have a case worker coming to my home for an in home evaluation. i finally just pulled the trigger and had a home birth last year... it was the most freeing experience i've had in motherhood. there is nothing more special than having your baby in the comfort of your own home, taking a shower in your own shower, and then climbing into bed with your little one.

Doctors (including psychiatrists) are actually harming and killing many for many years with drugs, testing, and false diagnosis, etc.. leading to harmful treatments, prescriptions! They don’t make any money if you leave them healthy without any toxic substances! It is so obvious when you research yourself and compare to the health of the children and elderly that families are keeping safe from drugging and testing, etc… If a child isn’t dying and has no trauma needing stitches or surgery or cast, etc.. then stay away from medical facilities and drs (and never go to psychiatrists no matter how old or young or if ADD or depressive or dementia behaviors!! The meds (also OTC or supplements) cause these conditions and many more health problems and then kill people early)! And don’t let medical institutions know you or your loved ones are avoiding them and their sorcery drugs and fraudulent diagnosis or you will become a target! Beware if you are single or minority and especially if you are a women, and especially if you are elderly! There really is a huge genocide program going on to depopulate the planet while drs medical facilities, staff, governments, courts judges lawyers, police etc, profit off of our family’s demise🥺😢! If anyone is on any psychiatric prescription drugs (and probably any prescription or street drugs) then they should be tapered off extremely extremely slowly and safely! Like shaving a small portion of pill off each week or two over months or a year in order to avoid any adverse drug withdrawal symptoms! Don’t give up, do your research and beware of fraudulent info from pharmaceutical industry, and those that profit from them! Find knowledgeable loving support family and friends/church to help with tapering!! But beware of the many “professionals” who will pretend to help you taper, while actually sabotaging your efforts by purposefully tapering you too rapidly!

I was waiting for them to go another direction, thank god they didn’t. It was traumatizing enough for everyone when we realized he didn’t just hit his funny bone and that it actually broken. Me almost too (we were almost done for murder). The medical profession called the police on us believing our daughter had been abused due to a medical condition causing her to hemorrhage and stop breathing needing CPR as a 6 week old baby. We ironically were only cleared of child abuse when doctors ended up giving our daughter A WRONG DIAGNOSES of a case of near miss cot death ("near miss" cause we got her heart and breathing going again, they would not believe a sudden with no cause major hemorrhage from her nose had stopped her breathing, again due to my first aid resuscitation training), they would not even come down the hospital car park to look at how much blood was all over our car due to her when we were telling them that this was not cot death. So then we lived in fear throughout her childhood that it would happen again as we knew they were wrong. We finally found out what almost killed her when 18 to 19 years later and then she was offered surgery/grafts to fix her problem so to stop having major bleeds (she had a birth defect of an exposed artery, no skin over it in a place within her body where the issue couldn't be seen as drs refuse to look up babies small nostrils saying "no baby can bleed from nose like you explained to us happened"). They never believed us and had just given her a wrong diagnoses and left her life in danger. How many parents are in jail right now due to medical misdiagnoses?

I disagree. There’s no medical kidnapping. Yes I’ve heard several cases where CPS messes up. But people scream and yell at CPS when they let a parent keep a child and the parent is hurting the child, and people scream at CPS when they take an abuse child from an abusive parent. No system will ever be right. Obviously that has no comfort to the family, but as normal citizens we need to understand logic. No system is perfect. Now what I do think is unacceptable is how they don’t give enough visitation to the family so the bond ends up being torn apart which can affect the relationship with a child for the rest of life. And the way CPS feels like whatever they believe is right and they don’t give their full support to a family to prove the family was innocent. But most families are not innocent. Most families together children taken away are abusing their children.

I worked in a pediatric hospital for years, and nearly every shift came with an abuse case or two. Decisions to take children into protective custody were made by a panel, not one physician. It wasn’t a decision made lightly, but children with multiple fractures made at separate times like this case were almost always removed from the home. OI and other bone disorders were always ruled out first… It doesn’t make sense to me that it was overlooked here. A civil suit would definitely be warranted.

Like lady, your same training says a random bruise on a toddler should basically be expected given they're dumb and fall a lot. You can't use training to justify one thing and then use your own opinion to justify something else in the same sentence.

We almost had a murder charge put on us and ended up being cleared of abuse only due to a WRONG DIAGNOSES of "near miss" cot death (she had to have CPR at 6 weeks old) while the dangerous condition which caused her bleeding and for her to stop breathing continued on (the bleeding had blocked her airways but doctors wouldn't believe us on how much she'd bleed and wouldn't even come to inspect the car which she'd sprayed blood all over and all doctors said was "babies can bleed a little with cot death cases"). Her true issue was found out about when she was 18 or 19 YEARS OLD to which then then told her she could have surgery. Her issue was a hidden rare birth defect, an exposed artery within her body, she was offered grafts to cover the artery.

I have been a nurse for 34 yrs, all doctors are not created equal and all nurses, whether RN or LPN are not created equal. Seek endlessly, like this mother did for second, third and fourth opinions, legal aid, etc. This is so horrific and ridiculous! There is extensive paperwork required in an investigation like this, Aberdeen and Grays are not really an appropriate level of care facility to have made this determination, in my opinion from reviewing hospital stays all over WA and the country. The baby should have been sent immediately to Seattle Children’s for very thorough testing, with this only dole MD opinion. Familial history alone should have directed that MD down the correct pathway. SMH.

It’s terrifying how easily kids can be taken from their families. When I was pregnant with my first baby, my husband and I moved to Arkansas to be closer to his family. After I had her, we found out she had Down syndrome. It was a total shock. She wasn’t gaining weight and I was very concerned, so I took her to 3 different doctors. They each told me different things I needed to do, so I did all of those things. When we went to the 4th doctor, she asked if I was actually feeding her. I was confused and upset and told her I was definitely feeding her and I was WORRIED. I wouldn’t have gone to 4 different doctors if I was the one not feeding her enough. She was taken from me for 8 months. I missed the first year of her life, basically! I learned everything I could possibly find out about Down syndrome, since I didn’t know anything about it. I found out a week after she was born, so I didn’t have much time to learn more about it. I was finally I was able to prove, with the help of a doctor who specialized in Down syndrome and several other things, that my daughter had very low muscle tone… It’s so severe that she needed a feeding tube because she wasn’t able to suck on anything strong enough with her tongue. None of the doctors said ANYTHING about it, even though the 5th doctor said it’s one of the most common things someone with Down syndrome has. They put in a feeding tube while she was with CPS and she gained some weight. The judge felt so bad for my husband and I. She was the only one who apologized. The doctors were on the stand, because CPS still didn’t want me to have her, and they were just arrogant and annoyed. Everyone wanted me to sue, but I’m just happy I got my baby back. I couldn’t handle going through all of that again, so my husband did. They gave us some money, but nothing will give me back the time I missed with my baby girl. She is 5 years old now and she’s such a beautiful, happy, smart, fun, hilarious, talented, kind, amazing girl. Her and my other 2 babies are my WHOLE WORLD. I don’t know if I’ll ever really get over the trauma from my baby being taken from me.

This is so sad. I remember when I brought back my newborn baby for her check up and she was 10% under her birth weight. The hospital just said we are keeping the baby just like that. After I suffered to breastfeed her like a crazy person. They assumed I wasn’t feeding her properly or at all. Mind you this was my 5th kid oldest being 10 at the time and nothing like this have ever happened before. Turns out her bowels weren’t working properly(which I told them many times I was concerned about at all visits but as usual it’s in moms head, babies can go weeks without pooping they said, she is fine.) they watched me in that hospital wake up myself all sorts of hours, feeding my baby changing my baby and writing down everything(definitely not how an abuser or inexperienced mom would move) don’t listen to these doctors ALWAYS get second opinions. Had I not done that with my kids over all the years I’m not sure how many would still be here. Todays doctors suck, a lot of them only want money, the name or the benefits. Their is little passion for the work. I’m so glad she got her kids back but her fears now are so valid and it’s sad.

Yeah remember when you'd have depression and they'd throw you into the asylum? Yeah I'd rather have those doctors back. Guys, don't be fear mongered into not going to the doctors, it is scary that stuff like this happens, and I've had some snide remarks thrown my way by some doctors, both pediatrician and otherwise, you gotta find a doctor that works for you.

This infuriates me!! Children are being abused and killed at alarming rates but they fight good parents like this for years just to traumatize these children and families. Of course they fight to keep these children in foster care because they get paid to do so! This family absolutely deserves compensation for this nightmare!

This happened to a family in Phoenix, AZ. The hospital called the police and accused them of medical neglect because they stopped for lunch instead of taking their baby directly to the children's hospital. Instead of building memories with their terminally ill daughter, they was fighting CPS to get their daughter back. Sadly, she succumbed to cancer shortly after returning to her parents. This and other stories played a role in my decision to work for AZ DCS. I don't make a lot of money, but the hugs and thank yous from my kids make up for the lack of money.

Cyf took my son from the hospital saying I was positive for fentynal and said the umbilical cord test could clear me when it got back. Turns out it was back and negative before they took him. Then they still made me take parenting classes and drug tests weekly for almost a year. A new judge finally said this is ridiculous and told them to leave us alone even though cyf kept petitioning for the weekly visits to continue.

This is not just an issue with the doctor that labeled this child abuse despite a few findings and a family history that pointed away from CA. The much bigger issue here is that CPS lied about the baby being "fine and healthy" in foster care AFTER the baby was found to have suffered broken ribs in care. When those fractures were discovered the baby should've immediately been put through more testing for an ACCURATE diagnosis and returned to his mother. It's stories like this one that have half the people in this country saying CPS is a child kidnapping organization! It's REALLY sad that there are an endless amount of stories similar to this one and there are just as many stories of children being MURDERED by their parent during an active CPS investigation. I swear in my hometown, just reading stories that appear in the local paper it truly seems like the children from loving homes are removed while the children in obvious danger are left in place until something horrible happens including death. This system needs a complete overhaul in my opinion.

On my mom's account, ever since cps took me the first time when nothing was going on at home I literally spent 8 worst months in an abusive foster home. My mom definitely knew something was wrong everytime me and my sister would freak out on not wanting to go back with our "foster mom" after a visit with my mom especially trying to hide somewhere. I hate cyfd all they've caused me is PTSD and I always think they'll come after my son one day when there'd be nothing going on and send him somewhere unsafe.

I wouldn't blame her for never taking her children to a doctor again. This is why no one trusts doctors anymore. ALL states "Child protection services" are corrupt bullshit agencies that thrive on taking children away from their parents because it's easier to control the new generation if they've never had a relationship with their family. DCYF should be completely disbanded.

As a foster parent, I feel like this happens often. A lot more often than you would think. I can’t say who would abuse a four week old baby because I’ve seen it. It could’ve been reported and then further evaluation. Very sad. I think of all the people in the world that hurt children. I guess that makes some doctors in the gun.
@meck4332
@meck4332 Жыл бұрын
It is not excusable to make decisions because you think you are "in the gun". Get a different job - perhaps door greeter at Walmart. Medical doctor is not for you if you can't think objectively. The problem is confirmation bias and job security. "Child abuse" doctors get it wrong way to often - they see abuse everywhere and they impede any progress in diagnosing the child's injury.

It’s a terrible fear we have to live with in our country that we can be falsely accused and have our children stolen. I don’t get people who are so glib to say it is a “temporary inconvenience”. I think those people either don’t have children or don’t have healthy attachment to them. That’s all I can think, because it is insane to think these false accusations don’t have serious long term consequences to families.
