I just read his book "Speaking in God's Name". A very intellectual, fair, and refreshing approach to this topic. He has thoroughly done his research. I would have loved to be part of an 8 hour halaqa on women jurists of the 14th century!! That is truly amazing! Works like that are so difficult to find anywhere. Imagine, a Muslim woman jurist in the 1300s whose husband helped her preserve her knowledge for posterity by being her *note-taker*- that was how they were a team, and he was not a famous scholar who produced any of his own works either. She's not in his shadow, it's all her. That is absolutely incredible.

So it contradicts, when you say "they worked as team" and then make a statement "it's all her". Also try to Imagine today a woman like that, or any woman of lot of potential marrying a man "below" her. Possible? I don't think so, very rare.

Asc. They mentioned the name in the video after the speaker remembered. I found on google the women’s name was Rabia Al Adawiya? Please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I found and the articles and videos that came up match the descriptions of this noble women. Jzk.
