Qanba Obsidian Mod with The EL Astro City Ver.2 Panel

So, I decided to take my Qanba Obsidian arcade stick to the next level by adding some seriously cool mods. First up was the USB C to A Round Panel Mount Adapter Version 2. Installing it was a breeze-I just swapped out the original USB port, and this adapter fit right into place, giving it a sleek, modern look with that satisfying click when you plug it in.
Next, I connected the EX GEAR DUPONT to Angled USB A Cable. This part is all about keeping things clean and organized inside the stick. The angled connector makes sure there's no awkward bending or stress on the cable, which is great for longevity.
Then came the SANWA DENSHI Joystick with the JLX-TP-8YT-SK base, which I paired with the PHREAKMODS: THE LINK EX GROOVE EDITION. I love this combo because the quick-release function of the Link EX lets me detach the joystick for easy transport. Plus, the new base just feels so much smoother, making my movements more precise during intense matches.
For the aesthetics and functionality, I added the NOIR Bottom Support Metal Panel. It gives the stick a more solid feel and looks fantastic with that extra touch of durability.
One of the flashiest upgrades was the ASTRO CITY LIGHT UP PANEL KIT VERSION 2. I was a bit nervous about this one because it's a bit more involved, but the end result was totally worth it. Now, my stick lights up like an arcade cabinet, adding that nostalgic vibe to my setup.
I also replaced the buttons with SANWA DENSHI OBSS30 30mm Solid Color Silent buttons. These are perfect for reducing noise without sacrificing that classic arcade feel. They have a satisfying press but with a much quieter click-ideal for late-night gaming sessions.
Finally, I swapped out the ball top with a SEIMITSU LB-35 Solid Ball Top (35mm). It's a small change, but it really complements the overall look and feel of the stick. The size and texture give me just the right amount of grip and control.
Putting it all together was a fun project, and now my Qanba Obsidian feels like a completely custom piece of gear-both in performance and style.
