Having a look at the Qanba Gravity Mechanical Shafts Arcade Joystick Silent Lever (Model JOV8S).
Although I have previously modified my go-to arcade joystick and swapped out the no-name stock lever with a Sanwa JLF model, I wanted to try a “silent” variant that uses mechanical switches that make no noise when actuating - they produce no audible “clicks” as you move the lever in various directions. How cool is that?
The new silent joystick lever I ordered a while ago was sitting on my desk for months. I planned on using it as soon as it arrived, but my personal and professional commitments got in the way. Being a responsible adult and keeping a steady job can get in the way of fun and games - what a drag. I haven’t even been able to open the package until today, and because of my hectic schedule, I will likely not install it or play with it for some time. But before I entirely forget about it, like I did with many other “things” I bought before that just sit on a shelf collecting dust, I thought I should open it up to have a peak.
The Qanba Gravity Mechanical Shafts Arcade Joystick Silent Lever (oof that’s a mouthful) comes equipped with the custom Omron grey mechanical shafts (the silent switches), three restrictor gates (square, round, and octagonal), three tension springs (light, medium, heavy), a wiring harness (standard 5 pin), a dust cover, a shaft cover, and a blue Resin Agate ball top. This is the complete package - it has everything you need to customise, tweak, and personalize the look and feel of the joystick lever to match your gaming style.
