I think I'm one of many Australians who will never book Qantas again. I'm not surprised it wasn't a great experience.

oh boy i cant wait untill the a330s are replaced, they where good years ago but for long haul flights like brisbane to LA or to tokyo, they are just so old now. It was also interesting to see those mealtrays that they used, have they gotten rid of the small white ones. if they have and everything is on that larger black tray that is a bit of a step up
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
I had a smaller white tray on the way over. Maybe it depends on the catering location? Do you know if they use a -200 or -300 to LAX from BNE? From what I've seen, the -200 seat isn't as good as the -300. It would almost be worth coming down to Sydney to catch an A380 tbh. Thanks for watching :)

QF service is sub-standard in all respects. I’d choose JL or AN on flights to Japan over QF any day.
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
At the time of booking, QF was a more cost effective option, but next time I'd definitely try one of the Japanese airlines instead. Thanks for watching :)

Great video, I did the same flights in July. The airport experience was different, was able to check in normally. Although perhaps they do this if you are there early and may as well pre-empt the checkin process to speed it up a little. I did notice the aircraft could use a much better cleaning job. There is only so much cleaners can do in a change over. But I do expect a much better monthly clean. I was satisfied with in flight entertainment. This day flight is great if travelling with kids. Would have loved to be able to find more things to buy with leftover Suica card credit in the airport. Its a ver simple business opportunity. Just small nik naks
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
Did you check in at an Economy section or the Business/Priority queue? I think they were allowing people to check in normally for Business but not for economy (from what I could tell anyway). It would be interesting to know the last time this A330 went in for one of the major checks that involve taking the interior apart. It had definitely seen better days... Did you have much money left on Suica? I only topped up around $10 at a time just to avoid much excess balance. Thank you for watching and commenting :)

@@LeisureFlyer Had about 3500Y left over 3 cards, spent some in that shop right near the Qantas checking. There was one nik nak shop towards the gate where it seemed like everyone was buying whatever over priced junk to fnish of their yen. We were economy. I think also worth mentioning, on arrival in Sydney. Customs staff do not care much for quarantine checks on passengers from this flight.
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
Ouch that's quite a lot to burn through! I rarely have anything to declare so quarantine isn't much of an issue most of the time. One trick I would say is to look at which exit has a shorter queue.

I haven't flown qantas in two or three years. Moved back from NYC via Air Canada, my first love. Do Qantas charge for alcoholic drinks or any other snacks outside of meal service?
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
Nope, no additional costs for drinks or snacks. They're all included and if you ask nicely, you can get quite a few snacks!

At least they have a day option to sydney which is rare in the scheme of things… I feel some USA bound flights (sans Hawaii) should have some night Sydney (or Australia arrivals) rather than all 6am horseshit
@LeisureFlyer3 ай бұрын
Trust me, I would have been far less enthusiastic about an overnight flight... Day flights in economy are much easier to tolerate IMO. I think the QF service to DFW is the only afternoon departure from Sydney. It's annoying because both ways, you arrive in the morning and then can't check in to a hotel for ages. At least coming back to Aus, I can just go home, but I have an upcoming flight to LAX which lands at 6am but check in isn't until 4pm :/

It's very hit/miss depending on class from what I've experience. QF First was the only time I had properly **good** service, whereas Business and Economy seem more like a production line, going through the motions of whats required. Not necessarily bad either, but just a tad mechanical.
