Have used Qantas frequently on oversea's trips from Auckland to Australia Asia etc. We fined them to be very good with service and the food was always good. The A380 and A330 are great aircraft the A330 is showing some age.

Great review again! I have flown QF a few times in the past 12 months. I have to say all flights have been fantastic along with excellent service on the ground. Amongst alot of negative reviews QF gets. They can still be a great choice! As you say price can be the decider! 🤔

Thank you! I'm happy to hear you've had some great experiences with QF. Yeah, QF tends to be quite expensive.

0:56 Bro, another good video, but a minor correction re Chek Lap Kok. CLK isn't an artificial island. CLK was an island that had always been there, but became part of the new HK airport. The area between CLK and an adjacent small island, Lam Chau, was reclaimed to form the airport "island" as we know it. Lam Chau was completely levelled; CLK was partially levelled. ✈ As for QF, in its ageing A330s, not my first choice for any kind of flight over three hours. 😁. SQ, CX, NH, CI...yes please, even if it's non-direct.
@Aviation7633 ай бұрын
Thank you! Oh really? If that’s the case then thank you for letting me know, and my apologies for the mistake. I thought the island was grown to be the size it is now artificially? Yeah QF really needs to step it up to compete with those airlines IMO.

Thanks for the informative video. I watched your MEL-PVG video on China Eastern (Shanghai Airlines).We are travelling are travelling to Shanghai next year. Shanghai Airlines have a direct flight and Qantas fly through HKG with a Cathay connection to PVG both for a very similar price. What would your personal preference be in this instance? Thanks in advance for your thoughts 😊

You’re welcome! I’m happy to hear you found it informative! Thank you! Awesome! If you have one world sapphire, I would definitely go via Hong Kong (maybe with Cathay the whole way), without it I probably still would (again maybe with Cathay the whole way), but if you don’t love flying then the direct option isn’t bad either, but I just think Cathay Pacific is better than Shanghai Airlines. Hope that helps, lmk if u have any more questions!

Nice to hear that the Qantas experience is good, although several aspects of the ground and in-flight experience need improvement. Also, how's the Hong Kong experience? Some fun comments to add: 00:39 The only complaint about the MTR Airport Express is that it doesn't stop at Sunny Bay, where Tung Chung trains stop to allow visitors to change trains for Disneyland (though in fairness, it's not the most popular attraction in Hong Kong). 🚋 01:00 Kai Tak Airport was famous for its steep approach and proximity towards residential buildings. It's so dangerous that the Hong Kong Government closed it down (in reality, Kai Tak could not sustain Hong Kong's exploding growth in air travel and air freight). 🛫 05:26 Now that you've said that, are you planning to create another Qantas trip report? Here's my suggestion, fly on a Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliner. (If you can!) 💡 07:48 This is why Cathay Pacific is rated five stars (according to Skytrax), though not in the same league as QR, SQ, or NH... 🌟 08:09 This is also why Qantas ordered 24 wide-body aircraft to replace its international fleet. That Airbus A330 has seen better days... it's a shame that Qantas technicians couldn't fix the A/C before it left for HKG. (Is the flight schedule too tight to warrant urgent repairs?) 🛠 11:21 The main story for this Qantas magazine at the time of your flight is epic Australian stays... 🏝 18:37 I would rather have this than be told by an FA what breakfast/lunch/dinner option I should pick, but ordered the wrong meal because I can't hear what was said due to these loud engines drowning out the cabin ambience. 🔊 18:50 On Qantas domestic flights (except operated by an Airbus A330) and in the Qantas entertainment app, there is no in-flight moving map... 🗺 19:51 On Garuda Indonesia, the crew offers passengers a dessert and a salad in addition to the hot meal, bread roll and drinks. And by the way, they have metal cutlery... 🍴 26:55 I didn't know that the Qantas staff on your flight are some of the most friendliest you've encountered in this channel... 🧑✈ 27:11 To round off my comments, no Qantas flight is complete without paying high fares for a decent level of in-flight service whereas the best carriers in the world offer same price but a better experience... though in honesty, Qantas has a higher cost base than Asian and Middle Eastern carriers, so prices need to be set at a high fare to make a profit. 💸 28:12 *BONUS COMMENT* That Qantas Boeing 737-800 with the Split Schmitar Winglets and the Silveroo livery tho... 😮
@Aviation7634 ай бұрын
Yeah. I loved my visit to Hong Kong! I will create another Qantas trip report, and I'd certainly like to try the 787 but it mostly operates long routes which are expensive haha. Yeah I agree with your comment on options for meals. Yeah I flew Garuda on this same trip, the amount of additions to the main meal on QF versus many other airlines leaves lots to be desired on QF. It feels a bit weird seeing a QF 737 with split scimitars haha, its cool tho.

8:48, The reason why it's delayed is because that's not the plane that your flying the 1 world livery and the luggage is close, meaning ready to go, but wrong plane or mechnical issue, so they swap to another plane, little annoying, it happen sometimes, even a full flight, it's a long time to assign a new schedule departure. Oh they don't dim the cabin light for takeoff? Few airlines like China Southern and Xiamen air don't dim the cabin light for takeoff, that's strange.
@Aviation7634 ай бұрын
My aircraft was never the one world A330, that was the flight to Sydney. I can’t say I remember that happening specifically but that would be a bit strange.

0:01 Qantas is not the “national carrier”, it has been out of government ownership and in private hands since 1995.

@@Aviation763 National Carriers are those that are majority owned by respective governments. Qantas lost the title when they were fully privatized. And they don’t deserve the “national carrier” title considering the conducts of upper management towards its hard-working frontline staff and paying passengers.
